From start to finish the care I received from St James laser vision was outstanding. I was made fully aware of any risks involved and was informed about every detail of the surgery i was about to have. The after care was also very good. 4 months on and I have perfect vision although my vision was above 20/20 2 months after the operation. The actual procedure was very quick and painless. In fact the only awkward part of the surgery was trying to stop myself rubbing my eyes in my sleep but this was solved with a pair of cool eye shields and some tape. Found this clinic accidentally whilst browsing the internet looking for information on Laser surgery, and I'm glad I did. I felt much more confident attending this clinic which is part of St James Hospital in Leeds. My treatment was with Mr Morrell, who was involved also in my initial consultation. Despite my being slightly nervous of the procedure, he was informative and highly professional throughout. After the surgery my eyesight was already improved and continued to do so in the following days/weeks. My check ups have all been satisfactory, and as I write this I am seven weeks post-op, my eyesight is fantastic and I am more than pleased that I went ahead with the surgery, and with the results. What an eye-opener - literally!! Having read all the reviews of this clinic I made an appointment to see Mr Ball. I too have worn glasses since the age of 7, moving to contact lenses when 21, and daily lenses when 35. My prescription was -7 and -5.5. We also have a history of cataracts in the family - both elder sisters, mother, grandmother - and as I am now in mid-50s, not something I was looking forward to. I can confirm that everything that has been said before is true - my experience of this clinic in January 2010 (first eye 18th Jan, second eye 1st Feb) has been truly remarkable. Mr James Ball is knowledgeable and professionalism personified, staff are courteous and helpful, the procedures carried out sympathetically - and the results even better than imagined! I was driving within 48 hours of the last operation, at night - no haloing, no residual blurring - and incredible vision. For someone who has never been able to see first thing in a morning - this is miraculous. I only wish the technology had been about 30 years ago. I can now look forward literally - with no future eyesight problems anticipated, and no cataract problems to deal with. I would most sincerely recommend anyone with eyesight problems to see Mr Ball. He is eminently trustworthy and capable, and will give you the best advice available according to 'your' problem. Your trust will not be misplaced. Thank you James - and all your staff.

All I can do is confirm the comments that have been made in previous reviews are true! A totally professional team, who inspire confidence and provide thoroughly outstanding care.Having worn monovision contact lenses for years (ie one eye for reading and one for distance) Mr Ball informed me that this could be replicated with surgery. I went ahead in November 2009 and can honestly say I have had no problems at all. I could drive the following day, can read without glasses AND see for miles! After a lifetime of glasses and contact lenses I only wish I'd done this earlier.I would have no hesitation in recommending St James's Laser Vision.

I was longsighted with a prescription of 4.75 and most high street clinics said I needed far more expensive treatment in Manchester which isn't good as I live in Leeds. Mr Ball was able to offer Lasek and my vision was vastly improved immediately and, one week on, is 20/20. No pain at all despite a great gain. Mr Ball, the Consultant Surgeon who carried out my procedure, is more concerned with quality of the work and you being confident than the finances. This is not the feeling I got from other clinics who spent more time discussing finances and potential discounts than they did the procedure and the benefits.

When I was considering having my eyes lasered I had to be sure I was putting my sight in the hands of someone who was an expert. After all sight is a very precious thing. My surgeon was Mr Ball - a true professional and a gentleman - someone who is concerned with giving the patient the best sight possible. I had surgery on both eyes at the same time - it was completely painless and was over in a flash! My recovery time was fairly rapid and the results are out of this world. I am so happy with my PRK laser treatment that Mr Morrell performed on both of my eyes. Still one year on I have perfect vision- slightly over corrected- but nonetheless PERFECT. I highly recommend this particular operation for anyone who wishes to have laser treatment and is near-sighted. Although it took longer to recover, I believe it is better in the long term than lasik or Lasek and is less likely to give dry eye. I highly recommend this operation for anyone.

I only had my right eye corrected as I had excellent near sight vision and did not want to have to wear glasses for reading. This has worked perfectly for me and I am enjoying distance views with perfect vision. I only wish I had had this done earlier.
