Mr Vincenzo Maurino completed is ophthalmic training in Italy, where he became a board-qualified ophthalmologist in 1994. He moved to London that same year to complete specialist fellowship training in laser refractive surgery, corneal transplant surgery and cataract surgery at the world-leading clinic, Moorfields Eye Hospital.

The initial consultation was very thorough. Mr Maurino consulted other peers on my treatment to give piece of mind and was available on the phone to answer questions. Based on this, I rang the clinic to see if this might be suitable for my prescription. Following the conversation with the clinic who explained the process in detail, an appointment was made to ensure that I was suitable for the procedure.
I was given a thorough examination in the clinic a week later and then spent an hour with Mr.Maurino where he reviewed the results and confirmed that I would benefit from the surgery and that I was an ideal candidate.
Two weeks later I had the surgery and could realise the improvements even being driven home by my husband. I could read signs, car number plates and clocks on buildings by the time we were on the Euston Road!
The next day I was seen by Mr. Maurino for a scheduled check up and everything was fine. The back up and after care from both Mr. Maurinio and his team at the clinic has been first class and I am delighted with my vision four months after the procedure.
My son has since had the same corrective Lasik surgery performed and he is also delighted not to be needing contact lenses or glasses any more.
