Took very little time from first approaching Moorfields to having surgery booked, and immediate results the day after the procedure. Full vision within a month. Excellent!

From my initial consultation, through the procedures on both eyes to the final consultation I have had full confidence in Mr Maurino and his team.

I am now not wearing glasses after 50 years of increasing short sightedness and I am delighted with the result of the sight correction surgery which was prompted by the early stages of a cataract in my right eye.

29 Oct 2015

Best decision of my life. My high prescription (-11) had remained constant for three years and I decided that I would look into eye surgery. I had worn glasses for 25 years and contacts for 20 years. I had never had an eye operation before and decided to research and choose the best eye surgeon I could find.
My consultation with Mr Maurino was very informative and following conversations with well respected medical professionals in London, who said he was brilliant and that they had even sent their own relatives to him for eye operations, I decided to go ahead. Laser was not suitable, so implantable contact lenses were the best choice for me.
Each eye was operated on a week apart and the operations were well-explained, smooth and straightforward. The results are fantastic – I can now read the smallest line on the chart and so no longer have to wear glasses or contact lenses. I am so happy and so glad I had this operation, and it has absolutely changed and improved my life. Mr Maurino was definitely the best choice and the staff and hospital took great care of me.

Mr Marurino did cataract surgery on both of my eyes and I achieved an excellent result. He was very kind, professional and made me feel at ease. I would highly recommend him to others.

Just about the best decision I ever took. Dr Maurino made it all very easy and I felt safe at every stage. All stages of the surgery from initial consultation to final check up are run most professionally.
I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Maurino and have in fact already done so.

16 Apr 2015

I had been considering eye surgery for a number of years, and had a number of friends and colleagues who had great outcomes from LASIK.
I went for a consultation at first with Optimax in Peterborough who were very good and very informative, but their consultant explained that I should have LASEK because I had thin corneas.

I was initially interested in visiting Moorfields purely for a second opinion. The outcome and recommendation was the same, that LASEK would be a better option for my eyes for the long term, but during the consultation Mr Maurino explained that the procedure they operate is no-touch (including no alcohol) and involved a procedure which sounded lower risk.

In the interest of balance, I have no concerns over the quality of the procedure operated by Optimax, but I found Mr Maurino to be very reassuring and worth the additional cost for a procedure where, particularly as it’s elective, I wanted to avoid any unnecessary risk.

Mr Maurino and his team were very helpful with regards to the procedure, they eye care (drops) after surgery, and answered all of the questions I had.

Today I have just returned from my 3-month follow up. My eyesight is excellent (given that I am not restricted by glasses, it is significantly better than it has been with specs for years). I could comfortably read the 6/4 line on the eye chart – the smallest lettering.

I recommend Mr Maurino and his team.
Many thanks
