So,so so quick - Dimitri, explained exactly what was going to happen during the procedure, there were no surprises which was brilliant. The results were instantly obvious and although the experience is fairly surreal and a wee bit odd, there was no pain or discomfort during the treatment at all.I know everybody's experience is different as we are all individuals, but I would have liked to have known that the info in the pre op pack was fairly under exaggerated...it told me that my eyes may water and would be light sensitive...they were actually streaming like rivers and the very dull winter day was blinding!! The first 3 hours after surgery were horrid, although not painful - then it was like a switch had flicked and all was perfect..no more watering, very little light sensitivity and I could see fantastically.I suggest to anyone thinking about the surgery - just do it..worth every penny. Thank you Dimitri and the team in Donegal St, Belfast.

A superb service!I had an enhancement operation done by Dimitri and his team in Belfast. Each and every member of the team were 100% professional, extremely friendly and extremely reassuring. I was nervous this time around possibly because I did find the initial procedure quite painful and I do have a phobia about anyone touching my eyes. I also was worried about the flap being lifted. Incredibly, I quite enjoyed the procedure - I was treated superbly well and reassured at every stage. Dimitri himself is a pleasure - He is friendly, honest, very professional and I would gladly let him operate on me again. I had almost NO post op pain - I still cannot believe that the top up surgery was as easy as it was. The one problem with being asymptomatic is that it is difficult to remember to put in the drops!A special word of thanks to Adrian for his professional input.I now have perfect vision and I am totally delightedJohn

I got my eyes done in Belfast this morning by Mr Kazakos and his team. Everyone was very friendly, professional, and down to earth, from walking up to the reception, meeting Demitri to meeting the surgical team and the after care. During the procedure itself, Demitri took me though every step of what was happening and what I needed to do. I felt assured 110% though the whole thing. My eyes before were -2.25 and -2.00, and about 30 minutes after I was able to see like I still had my contact lenses in… even though the watery eyes. After 4 hours sleep, I woke up and although my eyes were still cloudy I can see perfect. I just want to also send another big thanks to Demitri!!!

Hi, I had my laser eye surgery done at Optical Express in Birmingham on Friday 20th November 2009 (I'm writing this on the Sunday after I had it done, unaided of course !) My previous prescription was -7.00 in the left eye and -6.50 in the right eye, so quite high as I was very short sighted. I went along for my consultation and had to have the more expensive treatment as when they looked at my eyes I was told I wasn't suitable for the cheaper treatment. So I had the Wavefront with Intralase done. The night before I didn't get much sleep as I was really worried. On the day I was still nervous, the treatment room was similar to a dentists. I lay on a bed and was given a couple of stress balls to hold (which I didn't need in the end) First I had the anaesthetic drops put in my eyes which completely numbed them and then slight pressure was applied to my right eye which lasted for about 5 seconds and then I had my eyelids kept open with an eye lid holder. The Surgeon kept talking to me throughout explaining what he was going to do next. I had to keep perfectly still for about 20 seconds and I had a red flashing light to focus on. When this had finished, I had some antibiotic drops put in and then had the whole process repeated for the left eye. Altogether it took about 15 mins. Afterwards I went into the recovery room and was given some drops and instructions of how to put them in. When I cam out of the store everything was misty so couldn,t tell what my eyesight was like. When I got home I put some drops in which I found quite difficult as my eyes were heavy and kept wanting to close but I managed to put them in. I had to try and rest my eyes for a few hours but could only manage an hour at a time as they were still smarting when I shut them and I had to put my drops in every hour. About 4 or 5 hours later I could see perfectly and I sat up in bed and watched the telly with my night goggles on which I found a big help. The following day I went back for my check up and they were really pleased with me and said everything was healing up nicely. I just had a problem with the right eye as there was a little bit of mucus under the flap that had been created and things were still a bit blurry in that eye, but I've been told that it will wash out with the drops and then my vision will be good in both eyes. I am really surprised at how clearly I can see even though it is only 2 days later and would recommend anybody to go and have this procedure done. It was a totally painless experience, you just have some mild discomfort for about 3 hours afterwards, but when you have rested your eyes - a miracle has happened and you can see ! I used to wear contact lenses which I had to stop using and now I am just so glad I can see properly again without the nuisance of glasses.

I had the Lasik Wavefront treatment on both eyes in Belfast in May 2009. I wanted to wait a while before posting a review to see how my eyes settled down after the procedure. I am happy to say that Iam delighted with the results. I was quite nervous on the day of the procedure but the staff and Dr.Kazakos explained what was going to happen and helped me to relax and stay calm. Dr. Kazakos came across as a proffessional and competent person and talked me through the process whilst carrying out the operation. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kazakos to any prospective patients.

I had eye surgery to both eyes at Cobot Circus bristol in October 2009.The professionalism and care recieved by this surgeon and his team have been first class...I can fully recommend them highly. At all times I was treated with the upmost dignity and respect, my privacy respected and felt very reasurred and comfortable during the procedure, all questions and queries honestly adressed. I searched the 'net' to see when glasses were first used...it was in the 13 century!!! I am absolutely delighted to be free from 13 century advances and part of 21 century technology....it is wonderful.

Having had a -5 prescription most of my adult life, its amazing not to be having to think about contact lenses and glasses, whilst swimming, playing sport or flying our aircraft. My vison was better straight after surgery, thanks to Dimitri Kazakos. He is a most charming and professional surgeon, and ensured I understood all aspects of the surgical procedure. As so many people say " I wish I had had laser eye surgery years ago"

Excellent surgeon. I recently went back for a small 'tweak' after the first procedure left my right eye a little blurred (left eye was perfect). It was relatively painless (pain and 'fog' gone in 7 hours) and vision is now perfect. I had really bad eyesight since the age of 12, and to be able to see again without the use of contact lenses or glasses was like a miracle.

I had lasik surgery on both eyes on 11/11/09. Mr Kazakos was very re-assuring during the procedure where he outlined clearly what he was about to do during each part of the extremely short procedure. Visual results are excellent and to date i have had no post op difficulties of any sort.

I had the Intralase Lasik Wavefront on both eyes at the Birmingham Optical Express on Friday 13th November. (Yes, Friday 13th!!!). However, there was absolutely nothing to worry about. From the moment I entered the clinic until I left, I felt thoroughly comfortable, although suitably nervous. You first get called for a pre-op check to verify that everything's OK to proceed, then you get called in for the procedure. After putting on the cloth cap and ear flaps, you lie back with the optional stress balls. Dimitri then appears above your head, and calmly explains what he is about to do at every step. At no point during the surgery did anything hurt, there was only the slight uncomfortable feeling of something happening to your eyes. Dimitri moves your head about, tells you where to look and relax, and before you know it, the procedure is over. You are then taken into the post-op room to get your bearings back, and are told about the eye drop regime. Immediately, I could already see a lot better, even through the cloudy haze. After a final check, you are then free to leave. I suffered a bit from stinging eyes after about half an hour, but kept my eyes mostly shut on the journey home. Once home, I had a bit of a snooze with the very fetching goggles, and felt better after that. A day later, and I can see, with only minimal halos around lights. I had the one day sight test this morning, and could almost read the bottom line (16/20 vision). From a pre-procedure prescription of between -2.75 and -3.00 in both eyes, I can now see. Enough said. Thank you very much to Dimitri and all the team at Birmingham Optical Express.
