Is there anything I should know? It’s refreshing to see transparent laser eye surgery prices, and it’s rare for private eye clinics to offer interest free laser eye surgery finance options. 4. Mr Romesh Angunawela Review: The Verdict
So, is Mr Angunawela the right eye surgeon for you? Of course, that all depends on whether you live in London, and how deep your pockets are.
Mr Angunawela features as one of the best laser eye surgeons in the UK, given his extensive experience (even in complex procedures) and thumbs up from customers. It’s also rare to find an ophthalmologist with more awards.
However, he is London based, and – as you would expect from his eye-dropping experience in vision correction – his prices are at the upper end, with even the initial consultation costing £250. If that price tag is giving you goose bumps, there are many other safe options in the UK.

Testimonials
Very professional from start to finish absolutely no hesitation in recommending mr romesh angunawela thank you for your help and advice
After a number of consultations with other laser eye companies and no clear guidance for which was the best possible option, I decided to see Mr Romesh Angunawela. Very quickly he advised what would be the best solution, which was to correct my right eye only for long sight. The process from consultation to corrective laser eye surgery was only about a week. the after care was equally good, I was given a bag full of eye drops, lubricants and anti-biotic drops, with full explanation by the nurse. Post-op checks were equally professional, with detailed checks etc. I would recommend Romesha and Moorfields, the whole process took the uncertainty I had prior to the surgery.
Delighted with the result of my ops.
If you’re considering of having this treatment at Moorfields, don’t think twice!
I recently underwent corrective eye surgery with Mr Angunawela. I was very short sighted with pre-operative glass prescription close to -15 in each eye. In the consultation Romesh was thorough, reassuring and honest, and after explaining all the options recommended Visian ICL surgery. The booking process was straightforward and the staff were excellent. I had the procedure on each eye done 2 weeks apart. The right eye operation was quick, almost entirely painless and after 2 days i had perfect vision. The left eye was a more difficult procedure and i had a lot of blurring and discomfort afterwards. I was very worried what would happen. Romesh was also concerned, and was brilliant at re-assuring me that it would settle down after a week of drops. Indeed it did, and in both eyes my vision is now perfect. I am happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Angunawela to anyone considering corrective eye surgery.
Full of praise for Mr Angunawela and his team. After many years of dithering I finally, at the age of 53, had Wavefront LASIK surgery in March 2014. I opted to have one eye under corrected in order to have near as well as distance vision. I had already experienced this with my contact lenses and felt confident it would suit me – it has!
The clinic at Moorfields and all the staff, especially Mr Angunawela, are excellent. I had peace of mind knowing the reputation of Moorfields and of Mr Angunawela and wouldn’t have considered having the procedure elsewhere. I’m delighted with the outcome and feel it has given me a new lease of life.
