For many years I have contemplated eye surgery. My sister who had lens surgery 9 years ago has never looked back and my nephew has also had laser surgery by Mr Chitkara. After plucking up the courage I decided to have a full consultation with Mr Chitkara at Viewpoint. On arriving at the clinic I found the atmosphere to be very professional and friendly. At my consultation I was fully tested and talked through about my surgery and the best way forward. I decided to go ahead with lens implant surgery with accommodating lenses.

Can't believe I have worked in Optics all my adult life and put this off for so long!!! Deepak and Arthur put me at ease immediately, explaning procedures and answering all questions.I was aware of the importance of quality of vision and opted for (the now standard practice)Wavefront-guided LASIK. It has been fantastic. I can see 6/5 unaided and it is wonderful not to have to rely on specs or mess about with contact lenses. The equipment is state of the art, the standards and professionalism of all staff second to none.The after care has been very thorough and genuine. What a brilliant team. Arthur Nylander performed lens replacement on both eyes at once. The operation was relaxed and I only had eye drops for pain relief. Deepak and Arthur talked me through the whole operation before the procedure and then came to see me 30 mins after the lens were implanted to explain that everything had gone according to plan. The hospital I stayed in was fantastic and I'm pleased that I decided to stay overnight and return home the following day. The aftercare has been marvellous. My sight has gone from -8 to better than 20/20 vision. Before surgery I was unable to read anything on the opticians chart – and I can now read the very bottom line. Had surgery on 23rd Sept 06 and can't recommend viewpoint highly enough. From the initial consultation which was very detailed and informative, through to the procedure and aftercare, there is very little to find fault with. I had medium myopia and astigmatism in both eyes and needed glasses all the time. I had surgery at 5pm saturday and, after being checked, drove 60 miles home the following morning with no problems. My eyesight has continued to improve since then and is now better than 20/20 in both eyes. The procedure was wavefront guided LASIK and was explained fully to me before hand. Viewpoint did everything they could to make the process as easy as possible including booking a hotel room for me. They even took me to the hotel after the procedure when my taxi didn't turn up – great service. I certainly have no regrets about having the procedure or choosing viewpoint.
