The first Ultralase clinic was opened in January 1991 at the Clatterbridge Hospital near Chester. At the time, all treatments performed were Photorefractive Keratotomy, or PRK, until the Lasik procedure was introduced in 1995.

I have been wearing glasses all my life, and as a swimmer this was very difficult as my eye sight got worse as you can imagine. Having now been to Ultralase and not have to wear glasses/contacts any more feels like a miracle. I still get the odd moment I walk out the front door and think “oh I forgot my glasses” then remember I don’t need them. It is a funny feeling, but also fantastic.
I can go anywhere and not have to carry round contact solutions it’s great, and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
