I would happily recommend Mr Danjoux and his team to anyone considering undergoing laser eye treatment. Extreme professionalism was shown throughout the procedure and after-care, I was consistently informed at each step and all questions were answered succinctly! I'm very happy with the overall results and only wish I'd done it years ago!

I was advised that I only needed treatment for 1 eye, which saved me another £1300 which I was expecting to spend. Have worn varifocals for years, from first thing in the morning until last thing at night. It's fantastic to be able to drive & see clearly again. I need reading glasses for close work. I chose this clinic as it is attached to Sunderland eye infirmary and has a good reputation. I found all of the staff from the secretaries to the consultant very professional and friendly. At no time did anyone try to persuade me to go ahead with the surgery and there was no pressure placed upon me as I have heard reports of this from others using different clinics. The consultant explained everything to me in the consultation, including the risks associated with eye surgery. The procedure was quick and painless and the post care excellent. The optometrist was very friendly and approachable and always addressed any concerns I had. I would have no hesitation in recommending this clinic to anyone considering laser eye surgery. It was slightly more expensive than some clinics I've heard of but with only one pair of eyes I personally would rather pay that little extra for good quality care and treatment. Treatment date 04.11.09. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Danjoux and his team, very caring and professional. I wore glasses from the age of four and then contact lenses from the age of seventeen right up until the surgery, (I am now 46) I no longer have the need for either, it's amazing !

I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Danjoux and the Site for Eyes clinic to anyone considering laser surgery. I am 47 and have worn contact lenses and glasses since I was 15. I had always thought that laser surgery was not for me, just the thought of it was frightening, but in the summer of 2011 I thought it wouldn't hurt to do a bit of research. I had consultations with 2 clinics in Newcastle, before seeing my optician who recommended Mr Danjoux by name. The thing I most liked about Site for Eyes was that the initial consultation was with Mr Danjoux himself, he gave clear, unbiased advice, advising that I could expect 'quite a good result' with lasik surgery, but also explaining all of the risks. So I decided to take the plunge and had lasik treatment on both eyes in November 2011. On the day of the surgery I was very nervous, but also really excited. As expected, the surgery wasn't painful at all, just uncomfortable, only taking about 20 minutes. My vision seemed perfect after the surgery, I couldn't believe I'd actually done it! Over the next few weeks my vision regressed slightly, due to my age and reasonably high original prescription, and Mr Danjoux suggested I had more treatment, but to 1 eye only. So I had more surgery to my left eye in July 2012. The aftercare I have received since my original treatment in November 2011 has been excellent. I have been back several times for checkups and sight tests, the last being on Wednesday 9th January. My original prescription was -4.25 plus astigmatism in both eyes.I now have overall 20/20 vision, with my right eye remaining fractionally short sighted so I won't need reading glasses for the forseeable future. I am over the moon with the results, and appreciate my new vision everyday. Thank-you to Mr Danjoux, Anita and the rest of the team at Site for Eyes.

Excellent customer journey from initial consultation to final eye check. Everything was explained in plain English and with great patience. The procedure was painless but quite an experience. Although I still need glasses to read when the light isn't too good (goes with the age!!), I am glasses free. If anyone is considering having this done, my advice is to go for it. I'm glad I did.

Best thing I have ever done! I felt very reassured by my optician's recommendation of site for eyes, and also by the vast amount of information available on both their website and in the free information booklet (which can be ordered direct from their website). I stumbled across this website among many others while researching options, and everything already said here is true. The optometrist and reception staff are of as high a quality as Mr Danjoux himself. I had my surgery almost a year ago, following a consultation about 3 months earlier (I arranged it to be so late, as I was based in another part of the UK and wanted to be able to stay with my parents for at least a week after the surgery). The procedure was exactly as described in their booklet, so I knew what was happening at all times, and Mr Danjoux also explains the process as he is doing it. Immediately after the surgery I knew it had worked, but could not be sure how successfully, because I was wearing the strange goggle contraptions for 24 hours. The next day, I had 20/20 vision, a week later even better, and it has remained that way ever since. The only side effect I had was that for the 6 months following surgery I needed to use shop-bought eye drops first thing in the morning because my eyes dried up a lot overnight. I could have dealt with that for the rest of my life, because the positives were so good, but even that disappeared after 6 months. I would wholeheartedly recommend site for eyes, especially to those who have more complicated prescriptions, as I did. Ultralase did not fill me with confidence, and even the websites for Optimax and Optical Express put me off, with their "prices from" tagline. With site for eyes, you know what you're paying from the very beginning, and I paid less than I would have paid at Ultralase anyway. For more basic prescriptions, you could probably pay less and not need the security of being in an eye hospital with a trusted pioneer. For somebody who struggled to get past the top line of an optician's chart, this has been absolutely life-changing, and doing it aged 21 means I'll have years of use before I may need glasses again, should my eyes deteriorate in my 40s/50s. I love it, and think every day how lucky I am that this procedure was possible, to take away the expense of astigmatic contact lenses, the occasional pair of glasses and sight test. The surgery will have paid for itself in about 8 years, based on my previous expenses! To sum up - look around, and see where your instincts take you, but site for eyes is going to be a comfortable option for anybody because of the professionalism and history behind those doors. But easy prescriptions could consider cheaper options.

Site for Eyes was highly recommended to me by a friend. Although I live in Whitley Bay I decided to travel to Sunderland as my eyesight is obviously important and I wanted the best treatment possible. And this is what I got. The consultation was with Mr Danjoux himself. He gave me a mine of information, pointed out any risks and I was able to make an informed decision. I was given a booklet which went through the whole procedure. The staff were helpful and extremely reassuring. They were friendly and welcoming. The procedure itself was totally painless and the aftercare second to none-brilliant! I had no post op pain at all and no discomfort. I had regular check ups and free lubricating drops for the year. My vision was perfect from the start and monovision worked perfectly for me. I am 59 years old and can see distance and read without specs-brilliant! I only wish I had done it sooner. I would recommend Mr Danjoux and Site for Eyes to anyone.

I am extremely grateful for the advice, treatment and aftercare received by Mr Danjoux and all his team. I have had a refractive lens exchange to both eyes and Lasek excimer laser to the right one.I am no longer wearing contacts or glasses. It has changed my life !
