MDA Clinic

Having done a lot of research and a lot of talking to people the MDA clinic came up several times for its care and results. I didn’t think twice about contacting the clinic for a consultation since I believe personal testimonies speak volumes. The welcome is very warm and Christina does an excellent job at putting nervous clients at ease. The clinic is quiet and welcoming. Dr khatib further extends that warm welcome by meeting his clients in the waiting room and walking them into his exam room. I had extreme confidence in his abilities and went on to book a procedure date. Dr Khatib is very easy to talk to an extremely calming man. On the day of the procedure the environment was kept very calm and put me at ease and the professionalism was second to none. I am currently almost 2 weeks post procedure and my recovery has been exactly as explained it would be by Dr Khatib. My vision is brilliant although I’m still in the recovery process and hope to continue to see improvements. I am now completely without glasses and better than driving standard. The clarity wavers throughout the day but my research shows that is typical of the type of procedure I had. I would not hesitate to contact the clinic should I have any worries as I know they take their patients care extremely to the highest level. Very happy and look forward to my 3 month check with Dr Khatib. As a further note during my consultation Dr Khatib picked up on a retinal hole and instructed a letter be sent off to my GP for further examination. His duty of care to me was very comforting. Christina sent off a letter without hesitation and gave me a copy.

From the very first point of contact with MDA Clinic the experience has been superb. I felt well informed before making the decision to proceed with the procedure. During the actual procedure I was made to feel at ease and during the days afterwards, making contact with the clinic was very easy. Dr Khatib provided exceptional after care. One year on, I have just had my annual check up and have no problems at all.

The results have been incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone who does not feel comfortable wearing glasses. I can now enjoy swimming and see! The work Dr Khatib does is amazing and I cannot thank him enough.

I was very nervous when deciding where to have my eye surgery but was completely at ease once Dr Khatib went through the procedure in detail explaining everything. The staff as well as Dr are very kind and friendly making you feel at ease. The after care was also excellent.

Wish I made the decision sooner LASIK eye surgery has completely changed my life!

MDA Clinic provided an excellent service and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

All of the staff are very professional, helpful, and polite. The surgeon, Mr Khatib, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed to take pride in his work. There was no hard sell or pressure to proceed with the procedure, and when the initial examination revealed a factor which may potentially have increased the risk of an adverse outcome I was actively encouraged to obtain a second independent opinion from another consultant before proceeding.

The surgery itself was painless and over fairly quickly. The evening after the surgery Mr Khatib phoned to ensure everything was alright, and he provided his own personal contact details so that I could get in touch with him at any time, day or night, in case there was a problem after the procedure. Clear aftercare instructions and warnings were provided, along with the necessary eye drops and eye guards for use while sleeping.

I am very pleased with the final results, and, after a lifetime of being very short-sighted, my vision is now nearly perfect.

I had lasek surgery two days ago, performed by Dr Khatib and assisted by Mrs Khatib at the MDA clinic. Everything about the procedure was explained thoroughly before and during the surgery.Mr Khatib is a totally professional perfectionist. The before, during and after care was second to none.I would recommend the MDA clinic to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

MDA clinic was the second laser treatement centre that I attended (I previously went to a High Street Optician). I felt that I was being treated more as an individual, there was no pressure to make a decision on the consultation day, whereas the High Street Optician took £300 immediately they knew I was suitable for eye surgery (this was non-refundable). The eye surgery itself was just slightly uncomfortable, although I was very nervous. I had no pain whatsoever and hardly any discomfort following the surgery. Dr. Khatib, his wife and staff were very friendly and welcoming and I was given his mobile telephone number to call him at any time during the night or day. Although this was not the reason I chose MDA Clinic – the price was much cheaper than High Street Opticians. I would be pleased to recommend MDA Clinic to anyone contemplating laser eye surgery. I had LASEK surgery a week ago with Mr Khatib at the MDA Clinic, Cardiff. My vision was -8.50 and -9.50 and I had thought that my eyes would be too bad to fix. I was wrong, I could not be happier with the result of surgery and I thoroughly believe that such a positive outcome of the surgery is a testament to Mr Khatib’s experience and skill. I was very impressed with the whole experience from start to finish and have recommended the clinic to colleagues and friends.

A bat had better eyesight than I had until last week! My expectations were realistic having -5 shortsight and astigmatism of perhaps around driving test standard outtcome - but the high level of skill and professionalism of a modest and charming surgeon resulted in my having 20:20 vision in one eye and 1 cylinder in the poorer eye - Dr Khatib....you are THE MAN!!! If you are thinking of having Lasik surgery done you will be hard pressed to find better.

I had the surgery done in 2 weeks ago. I had visited both the Eye clinic in Cardiff and the MDA clinic and there was no doubt in my mind which one I would be using (also the research I had done on Mr Khatib was all extremely favourable). I had the op less than a week after my first consultation! I had dreadful eyesight -9.75 but had worn contacts for 21 years so was used to being able to see perfectly with them in, so I was slightly apprehensive that I probably wouldn't after the op (it was explained that because of the level of correction needed I probably wouldn't have 20/20). I now have -0.5 and -1 which although isn't perfect is not a problem at all. Although the op was completely painless and quick - I wasn't prepared for how horrid it would be - although now it is just a fab war story, so don't let it put you off but don't expect it to be pleasant either. I had expected a small amount of pain and discomfort afterwards but had none whatsoever - not even grittiness. Mr Khatib and the team were marvellous, both before, during and after.You and your eyes feel like the most important thing in the world while you are there and that is very reassuring. A very personal service by very caring people. Finally, my biggest surprise has been the aftercare - I was under the impression that after the op you just carried on as normal which isn't quite true - for the past 2 weeks I have put 16 drops a day in my eyes, slept with an eyeshield (which has affected my skin), not worn make-up or hair products, had great difficulty in washing my hair, not going out in wind, not drinking alcohol, not touching dirty things, etc etc - mind you I think I have been excessively strict with myself as I read a few horror stories on the web and they all seemed to be from people getting stuff in their eyes after the op. Tip I have worn sunglasses (clear ones) a lot to ensure I don't accidentally get something in my eyes - if you have long hair I would suggest a skull plait before you go as you will want it out of your face and you can't wash it for 3 days! Would I recommend MDA Clinic? - Definitely YES
