Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. Or, you are free to double check whether there might be a better match out there using our clinic-matching tool.

I was treated on 10 November and I'm writing this just after an 8 week check.

I have been very impressed with Accuvision and their laser technology. Everyone at the Fulham clinic has been so friendly and helpful. I have really felt like part of the family. I will actually miss going there when all the aftercare visits are done.

Regarding the technology, I did a lot of reading about different lasers. It can be quite confusing but at the end of the day it was all about results. Accuvision's success rates are some of the best that I have seen. My eyes were -4.5 and -5.0. Accuvision's 20/20 rate for this prescription range is over 95%. Check that against your friendly local competitor who charges more because they offer “the best technology”.

I was shivering in the waiting room before treatment but I needn't have worried. The procedure was an absolute doddle. It didn't hurt a bit and wasn't even uncomfortable. I would almost go as far as to say that I enjoyed the experience. It was certainly fascinating. The nicest surprise was that I had absolutely no discomfort afterwards – not even the gritty, watery eyes that I was expecting. Accuvision advise you to keep your eyes shut as much as possible for the rest of the day and I think that must really help.

My vision is now 20/20 with both eyes together (although my right eye is 20/30) and I can do things like cycle in the rain and see my kids in the swimming pool. I'm looking forward to snowboarding in February without the hassle of my clumsy glasses/goggles combo, or the pain of trying to arrange contact lenses for just one week.

On top of all this, both eyes were done for £1,398 and I really feel that I had some of the best treatment available – not “cheap surgery” at all. I really cannot understand why people pay more.

The absolute icing on the cake was when I received a Christmas card from Accuvision with a picture of a snow covered mountain with fresh snowboard tracks. Now this may be coincidence, but I had told Vikash that one of my reasons for having this done was snowboarding. Coincidence or not, it was a beautiful experience to receive the card and to picture myself out there on the snow enjoying life without visual aids.

The only (very minor) annoyance was when I was told that they don't recommed tube travel after surgery. It was a bit late as I had travelled in by train/tube and I wasn't about to pay about £150 for a taxi home. I just shut my eyes and hung on to my wife's arm. Nothing to worry about.

I could go on all day about how excellent the Fulham clinic is but I suppose I should let someone else have a turn!

Three and a half weeks since the LASIK which was so simple &
quick it was less uncomfortable than a dental check up , I was -3 in both eyes , now the right is close to 20/20 and the left a little behind . The results are amazing and Accuvision were my choice after consulting 3 other clinics and I'm sure it was the right one . One small note of caution , getting used to reading glasses is quite a learning curve afterwards although I've gone from + 1.5 a week after to + 1.0 presently . No pain no overnight discomfort , just slight confusion every morning when I realise I've left home without my specs . The brain still isn't sure which eye to favour , time will tell .

I had wavefront LASIK on both eyes at Accuvision in July 2005, performed by Mr Chad Rostron and his team. Prior to this, my prescription was -4.25/-5.00, and I had been wearing glasses/contact lenses for about 15 years since my late teens. Without them, I couldn't even watch TV, let alone drive.

The operation was a textbook success: I had mild discomfort (grittiness/sensitivity to light) for the rest of the day, but the next morning woke up feeling fine and able to see almost perfectly. By day 3, I could easily have gone back to work, but had chosen to take the whole week off just in case.

Now, 6 months later, I've been discharged from Accuvision's aftercare programme, as my eyes have fully healed and I've suffered no problems whatsoever in the meantime. My vision has stabilised at better than 20/20 in both eyes.

I really can't fault Accuvision at all. Their initial consultation is free, genuinely no-obligation and very detailed, the treatment is fully explained, quick and painless, and the aftercare programme is spot-on, including a 24-hour helpline in the unlikely event of any urgent problems.

Accuvision aren't the cheapest, but knowing a friend who went to one of the bargain-basement laser eye clinics and suffered quite bad complications, the words “false economy” spring to mind…

I had been considering laser eye surgery for quite some time but until the last couple of years, my prescription had not been stable enough.

Over the last 2 years my prescription had not changed (-6.25 & -6.00) so I decided to take the plunge and go for it. I’d had enough of glasses and contact lenses and always hated my dependence on them. I spent time researching what was available and stumbled on this website.

Having read the comments posted on each clinic, I decided to go for a consultation with Accuvision, mainly due to the fact that nobody had a bad word to say about them.

I went along for the consultation and even at this point I knew I had made the right choice of clinics. The staff are friendly and the first thing that happened was I was offered a cup of coffee while I waited. A small thing perhaps, but it does make you feel welcome. The consultation was thorough and professional and everything was explained to me, including the potential risks and possible complications. There was absolutely no hard-sell and you are left with a fully informed decision to make.

I decided that I was going to go for it and an appointment was made for approx. 2 weeks later. I was quite nervous beforehand but my surgeon (Brett Halliday) was very down to earth and reassured me that the procedure was quick and painless. I had 2 main fears about the surgery, the first one was that the eye clamp would be difficult to fit and very uncomfortable, the second one is that I would freak out when I saw the blade of the microkeratome coming towards my eye. Fortunately both fears were unfounded. The eye clamp just seemed to flick into my eye with no trouble at all and you don’t really see the microkeratome at all, just red & green lights throughout. The surgery was over in minutes and before you know it, they’re finished.

Initially my vision was sharp but foggy (a bit like looking through a misty window) and was rather blurry for about 3 days. When the anaesthetic wore off, I had shooting pains in my right eye (not unbearable, but uncomfortable) but no reaction in my left. This subsided by the next day and after that it felt like just something in my eye. Not much changed until day 4, when the discomfort suddenly stopped and the blurriness disappeared (almost instantly – quite weird!) and I was amazed how good my eyesight was! I can’t think of a “Wow” factor that could beat this one. After 15 years of bad eyesight, I could now see more clearly than I could with by glasses on previously. I spent ages just staring out of the window at work amazed at just how much detail I could make out. When I went back for my checkup the following week, my vision was 20/20 and I could even make out some of the letters on the 20/15 line! I am writing this exactly 2 weeks after surgery and my vision is still excellent. Still getting some halos at night but this is improving gradually.

All in all, I would certainly recommend this surgery to anyone who hates the hassle of glasses and contact lenses (the few days of discomfort is definately worth it) and I really doubt there’s a clinic anywhere that is better than Accuvison.

I recently had my laser surgery just over a month ago my prescription was very high and I was generally getting very fed up with wearing contact lenses and also the fact that I was wearing glasses for nearly twenty years.

I visited Accuvision for a initial consultation and I was very impressed with the friendly service they provided.

They were very informative about the whole procedure and explained everything to me. They made me feel very relaxed about the whole process and made me feel more confident about having the corrective surgery done considering I was very nervous about the whole process.

When I finally underwent the corrective surgery, they made me feel very calm about the whole process. The surgery was over within minutes and I was unable to feel anything. During the first few hours I experience some discomfort but they explained that this was normal. I went home to sleep and the following day I woke up and my vision was excellent it was like I was this new person and I was so excited about the fact that I could wake up and be able to see everything again without having to reach for my glasses also the fact that in the long run I considered this to a cheaper option rather that continuing to wear glasses and contact lenses.

I was given the all clear the following day when I visited the clinic and I was able to resume back to my normal working life. I was able to drive and use the computer. When people say that you cannot drive and use the computer for a couple of weeks I found to be a myth. I recovered within 24 hours and I was fine.

I would say that I found the whole corrective surgery an experience and has made me a new person. I found that the staff at Accuvision help me achieve this as they calmed me down during the whole process, were informative and very helpful which I felt was top of their priorties when I first visited them.

I would recommend corrective surgery to anyone who is considering it. I would also recommend Accuvision as a Clinic who are committed to achieving the best results possible for you.
