Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. I was a self confessed contact lens abuser, wearing my lens from the moment I woke up 'til the moment I went to bed (often falling asleep in them) for 14 years. This resulted obviously in numerous eye infections the most recent of which excruciatingly painful and resulting in my optician banning me from buying any more lens’ and a couple of visits to the Eye Clinic at St Thomas’ Hospital. I had been warned in the past about wearing my lens for so long but figured that I wasn’t as bad as I used to be, now that I actually own a pair of glasses at least.
My prescription was -5 & -5.5 which of course meant I had to wear glasses or lens’ going without was not an option. However my wearing my lenses was damaging my eyes so badly that even with the lens or the glasses I was still having difficulty seeing more than a few meters away. After 2 weeks of no lenses my optician was still not happy to supply lenses until I had a check up at the hospital, they gave me the all clear but it seemed time to make a change before it was too late.
I didn’t feel confident in going to a surgeon that operates out of a shopping centre, not much different from a show shop with the emphasis on get them in get them out, these are the only eyes I’ll ever have and I’ve ill treated them enough. I made an appointment with Accuvision to see if I was suitable for laser treatment, I didn’t hold out much hope as the optician’s moans were ringing in my head about the permanent damage I had done to my eyes. I had to keep my lenses out for the days leading up to my appointment so they could properly assess my eyes. They confirmed that my eye sight seemed worse than my prescription but said this was due to the surface damage to my eyes due to my contact lens habits and would be difficult to rectify with lenses or glasses. They then took scans of my eyes. Your eye should be a smooth surface; mine however looked like the Himalayas, inflamed and covered in scar tissue. A second opinion was called for and it was decided that I could have surgery but Epi Lasik not Lasik, due to the state of my eyes. I know they never guarantee 20/20 vision for anyone but they were very honest and said that they doubt I’ll achieve this due to the condition of my eyes, all due to my years of contact lens abuse. I was told that even if I did not have the surgery they recommended I never wear lenses again. I was mortified at the thought and figured that even if I am left wearing glasses for driving or close work it has to be better than being dependant on my glasses like I was then. I agreed to the surgery and to the pre surgery instructions, no lens at all between now and the surgery. That’s a whole month, in my case, of wearing my glasses!!!! Also for the 5 days prior to the surgery I had to put anti inflammatory drops in my eyes 3-4 times a day. The day of surgery came around and much to my and the surgeons surprise my eyes were so much better that they said I would be better suited to Lasik. This was due to the simple course of anti inflammatory drops and no lens, so disappointing that the doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital never prescribed them before. It was decided that Lasik it was, much to my relief. I am not a big fan of pain or surgery of any kind and a bit of a girl about anything like that but was so pleased that everything was over so quickly and completely pain free. You just keep looking at the light, there’s a brief smell, not unlike burning hair a few drops in your eyes and away you go. As simple as that, or at least that’s how they make the experience feel for you. As soon as I sat up from the bed I looked at the surgeon and was stunned I could actually see him!!!!!
The care throughout has been brilliant, I returned the next day for my check up all ok vision just a little like a foggy day. At my week check up I was reading 20/20 something neither myself nor the surgeons ever expected, to say I am over the moon is an understatement. I still go to take my lenses out at night and still wake up thinking “damn I slept in my lenses again” but I can live with that confusion, I’m sure it will pass.
The wearing glasses for a month combined with no make up for a few days before the surgery was a nightmare for someone as vain as myself but I can’t explain the joy of now being able to see better than I’ve been able to see since the age of 12
Accuvison may not be the cheapest option for surgery but what price do you put on your eye sight! Personally I don’t think I could’ve made a better choice of surgery and thoroughly recommend Accuvision to anyone considering the procedure. I can not fault their expertise and levels of care throughout. They exceeded both mine and their own expectations and I am forever grateful.

I had my eyes done last month after pondering over treatment for over 2 years. It was amazingly easy, pain-free and life-transforming. It has given me the confidence to do things I would never have dreamed of. The staff at the Solihull surgery were fantastic – thanks!!

I was a very nervous patient, but from the start was reassured and had my hand held during surgery. I was operated on by the Founder, CEO and Clinical Director. My unaided eyesight is now 20/20 in both eyes. This is an improvement from 20/25 aided in one eye. The other one is still 20/15 aided. I cannot recommend these people highly enough.

I've waited until my final check-up was completed before writing this review. Firstly though i must tell you my prescription was approx -4.00 and -3.75, i thought of laser eye surgery some years ago with “Boots” but was refused due to a thin cornea! So about 6 mths ago i took the plunge again! hoping for a change in technology. Using this website i decided on Accuvision (parsons green clinic).
I phoned them to arrange a consultation which was booked for the following week. When i arrived i was greeted with confident and happy smiles and to my suprise also found out i DIDNT have thin corneas in fact i had plenty of cornea thickness. I was told i would be a perfect candidate for surgery. SO i had it done there and then!!
Let me stress i was not pressured in any way to do this, it was my decision and mine alone and boy oh boy was i glad i took it. No nervous wait for me!
When it came to the procedure all i can say is its “strange” not painful in anyway but “strange”! You can read details about the aftercare elsewhere on this site, your 4 follow up appointments and emergency phone number for the first 24hrs etc but i can add it is excellent. My eyesight is now perfect, i can even read the line BELOW the 20/20 line! I cannot recommend Accuvision enough!

I have left it a year before writing this to ensure that everything is as good as I first thought, I considered laser eye surgery for two years. After researching my preferred choice was to use Accuvision. For convenience Solihull seemed the better Clinic for me. My initial consultation was with Nick Dash who put me totally at ease and assured me that they could correct my short vision. The treatment was arranged for 22nd September 2005. Whilst travelling up to Solihull I felt I could have easily given up and backed out, however I am glad I didn’t, the procedure itself lasted about twenty minutes, although the laser treatment lasted only seconds for each eye the rest of the time was getting me in the right position and putting me a ease. It was completely painless and over before I knew it, when I walked into the waiting room afterwards I could see quite clearly, although I was advised to keep my eyes closed as much as possible.
I have never looked back, I don’t know how others get on but for me I have had no problems and have been able to see clearly from that minute on. This for me was a life changing experience I no longer need to wear glasses for any area of my vision and now I have just had my final check up (one year on) and have now been signed off. I would recommend this procedure to anyone and would like to thank Nick for his pre and post operative consultation and of course Brett Halliday and his team who performed the surgery. I am a female of 50+ and was severely short sighted having worn glasses or contact lenses since the age of nine what a transformation.

Thank you Accuvission.
