Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. At first I was thinking of going with Accuvision for my surgery purely on the competitive prices they had. It was only when I went for my consultation when I realised they were definitely the most reliable and professional eye surgery clinic on offer. I had been to consultations with other companies and I felt that I had met more salesmen than I had actual professionals on the day. One particular company even tried to tempt me to book it ASAP so I could save a further 10% on top of my NHS discount, which is absolute nonsense when it’s life altering and irreversible surgery that you’re considering. With Accuvision this was not the case at all. The Optometrist fully explained the procedure required for my prescription and answered any questions. There was an incident where one company had said I wasn’t suitable to have Lasik treatment whereas Accuvision said I was. This other company stated that if something was to go wrong then I couldn’t get any re-treatment. I voiced my concern to Accuvision and the Optometrist explained that the only reason for this is the difference in the equipment each company uses, as they have to work around safety guidelines in regards to your eye’s corneal thickness. But Accuvision were also very concerned how the other company told me what would happen “If it was to go wrong”, which is an excellent point. The surgery was quick and almost completely painless, a moment of discomfort in each eye and it’s done. My eyes have healed perfectly and have had no problems at all. I would highly recommend Accuvision for professional and affordable service.

I had all my treatment done at the Kings Road place. The consultation went very well and I as offered a very good price I think of £700 per eye. The surgery day did not go very well though. I was introduced to the Surgeon, Samreen Uppal, on the day of surgery but, for some reason, some one else (who wasn’t properly introduced) did the talking before the surgery and then someone else (another person) did the explaining during the surgery. The fact that I was being given very vague instructions during the procedure and that the surgeon herself hardly spoke at all made me very stressed and I even had to raise my voice during the surgery to ask exactly what I was supposed to be doing. It may have been the surgeon’s first day at this place, and for all I know she may have been very good, but I expected the surgeon to say more and the fact is that she didn’t. The after-care appointments have all been fine and I think the surgery has gone well so overall I’m quite happy.

It was 3 years ago that I walked down the stairs into the London clinic for the first time. Now I’m back again with my girlfriend while she undergo’s laser eye surgery herself. Following my laser eye surgery I have started playing hockey again and have embraced the experience of not having to wear glasses. I now wish Tara, my girlfriend the same life changing experience that I have enjoyed. I’m pleased to say that after a quick check-up today (while Tara recovered from her surgery) I have been told that my eyes haven’t changed and 20:20 vision remains. Thank you Accuvision from the both of us.

I’m 46 and had successfully worn contact lenses for years (strength -5.75). However, I had noticed that for the last couple of years I seemed to struggle reading menu’s etc. A visit to the optician offered no change to my prescription, so I was becoming increasingly frustrated. Following a colleague’s favourable report on her Lasik vision correction at Accuvision Leeds (Wetherby), I booked a consultation to discover to what extent treatment might benefit me.
I was immediately impressed by the Accuvision premises and the friendly staff. I felt completely at ease. I had done research on Lasik / Lasek and took along a list of questions, which Simon Falk was more than happy to go through. I was impressed by his knowledge and how he tailored his answers to my individual circumstances. He provided clear and easy to understand explanations and informed me about ‘mono-vision’: this involves leaving one eye slightly short-sighted to ‘improve’ near vision. He advised that this should prove beneficial to me, though it may take a little getting used to.
I had still not actually made up my mind at this point. However, I was put under no pressure whatsoever.
I went away, did further research on mono-vision and Presbyopia: apparently when you reach your mid-forties reading gets harder. This is because the lens and muscles inside the eye have become stiff with age. You can no longer flex the lens to give it the extra power needed for reading. This all made perfect sense, and it appears I’m at the perfect age to have this done! As there would be no charge for further surgery should I decide I couldn’t work with mono-vision, I decided I’d nothing to lose!
I booked in the following week; 3 July 2012, taking early advantage of the July 2012 special offer.
NB. I understand that they offer ’10 month interest free credit, after initial deposit’ that you may wish to consider.
On the day, everyone was very friendly, excited patients spoke openly to one another. It was all very relaxed and I found the surgery itself painless, pretty quick (minutes) and I personally found it all rather interesting.., and pretty ‘cool’!
I was curious about the ‘contact lens bandages’ thinking that I wouldn’t be able to see when I got home, but these turned out to just be those ‘prolonged wear’ contact lenses and I hardly noticed I had them in (Simon Falk removed them at my appointment the following day). You can ‘see’ straight after surgery, and after a short period of rest with your eyes closed, you trot back downstairs. Like everyone else, I had brought dark sunglasses with me, though I didn’t feel I needed them.
I administered the drops myself and experienced no discomfort whatsoever, so had no need for painkillers. My colleague had mentioned that the following morning she felt as though she had slept in contact lenses, but I was fine.
The second evening, it felt slightly like I had a stray eyelash in my left eye, but I ignored it; per the post-operative instruction sheet this isn’t unusual. The following morning it was fine.
I’m now at day five and on the whole would appear to have already adjusted to the difference in strength between my eyes. I can see distance clearly; including driving in the rain and fog the other day, and I can also read close things; including the date on my watch that has been a blur for the last two years! If I think about it, I can notice the difference in that one eye seems a little fuzzy, but I’m pretty confident that I won’t even notice that in a few weeks.
This treatment has exceeded my expectations and I fully recommend Accuvision Leeds.

I had excellent service and care throughout. From a no nonsense consultation that left me feeling confident, through surgery and two aftercare meetings. Life without lenses is well worth the time and effort involved and I would have no hesitation in recommending Accuvision to friends family and work colleagues.
