Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. where do i start when i decided to get laser treatment done i opted for the most advertised company Ultralise… big mistake. I have a very thin cornea which Ultralise failed to mention in the consultation, agreed i could have the surgey and then when the day came the surgeon refused to do the surgery because of my thin cornea. That is when had given up on getting the surgery done.

I then got referred to Accuvision who were amazing! they discussed my thin cornea gave me two safe options explained them thoroughly and i had my surgery within a month of my consultation. They were £600 cheaper than Ultralise and 100% better!

One month on and my vision is perfect! i have been back for regulary check ups where the after care has been excellent

i reccomend Accuvision to anyone and intend to get them more customers!

THANK YOU ACCUVISION!!!!

Thrilled with results of treatment. Had astigmatism before treatment now have 20/20 vision in both eyes. Results were instantaneous, as soon as I sat up after the procedure I could see clearly. Was amazed there was no pain involved in the treatment .On way back home after treatment couldn’t stop reading car registration numbers , place names etc.mind blowing. Staff at Accuvision were very professional in making me feel at ease and explaining the procedure to me.The after care I received was first class, nothing was too much bother for them. If anyone reading this is thinking about having laser eye surgery I would most definately recommend them having it done. Now I can do the things I want to do without having to wear spectacles.

What had put me off laser eye surgery until this point in life (I am 49)? I think it must be the misconception, fuelled by more than one discussion with more than one optician, that my prescription could not be accommodated.

Vikash Patel, who conducted my very thorough initial consultation with Accuvision in London on 9 November 2007, reassured me on this. My R. -2.50 L. -0.75 (sphere) and R. -1.50 L. -3.00 (cylinder) prescription would present no problem according to Vik and he has been proved right.

The only potential issue highlighted by the initial consultation was thinner than normal corneas. Vik said this might result in no further progress towards treatment at other laser eye surgery providers but that Accuvision’s state of the art equipment would have no problem given my prescription was relatively ‘weak’.

I was taken patiently through the alternative treatments available at Accuvision and recommended Lasik (the creation of a corneal flap and subsequent laser). Vik also recommended, given my age, that I have monovision. This plays to fact that we have a dominant eye, in my case the right. This is treated for long vision, and the other eye made slightly under-powered to accommodate near sight.

So to surgery day … on Monday, 19 November. I felt surprisingly calm – although the nurse monitoring my pulse would probably offer a different view. As so many others have said on this site, the procedure was entirely painless. The creation of the corneal flap was a little unnerving, given it is the only ‘mechanical’ part of the process, but that aside the surgery gave me no concerns. I was soon back in the waiting room … and about ten minutes later being examined by Mr Jindal, my surgeon, who confirmed that all had gone well.

A next day examination by Vik confirmed good progress even within 24 hours. Some 6 weeks or so later, another Accuvisision opthalmologist, Joan, confirmed 20:20 vision – plano in my right eye and – 0.5 in the left.

There are some points I would make to anyone who is considering or who has only just had laser eye surgery.

• firstly, the team at Accuvision are very personable, highly professional, patient and interested in a good outcome rather than a sale.

• secondly – and this is particularly for those who have just had surgery – do not panic if stable, good eyesight is not immediate. I was jumpy enough by day three to return to Accuvision (not a quick journey from Basingstoke), worried that my sight was still variable. I was reassured – but I would say that it was not until the fourth week that things settled and I got used to the monovision.

• Thirdly, be a bit thoughtful about how you will protect your eyes from the enquiring fingers of a young child. That said, I have had a few jabs in the eye from my son since surgery with no ill effect. I did stay away from him completely, though, for the first 24 hours which Mr Jindal had stressed would be the ‘most critical in the life of my eyes’!

My eyesight now. Absolutely amazing! On a clear winter’s day with sunshine (a rare event lately, I know) the clarity is really striking. Without getting too poetic, I particularly notice the colour of trees and the way light falls on them. I am surprised and almost a bit guilty at how quickly I have taken this for granted after 42 years of wearing spectacles. I can only suggest that it reflects well on the quality of the experience I have had with Accuvision.

Accuvision provided such a great service and made me feel safe at all times. The initial consultation by my optician was excellent. He provided with me all the information in regards to laser correction, (i.e. the benefits vs risks) and allowed me to make an informed decision without putting any pressure on me. The surgery only lasted a few mins and my surgeon made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the whole procedure. The aftercare of all the staff at Accuvision was perfect. Now two months on they are still looking after me. Its great to have perfect vision after wearing glasses for over 15 years. I am indebted to all the staff at Accuvision.

If you are considering laser eye surgery, in my view, you don’t have to search anywhere else – as you have probably just found your clinic!!!

I had Wavefront Optimized LASIK exactly one year ago and it was the best decision I could possibly make about my eyes. Dear Accuvision team – thank you so much again for the freedom I enjoy!!

I used to be short sighted and my prescription was -4.50 and -2.50 with slight astigmatism. I’m 30 years old, wearing glasses since my early teens. Before I called Accuvision I went to Optical Express, but what a disaster!! I was just a number. Also from the advertised £395 per eye, the final quote ended up on astonishing £4000!! And the really ‘best thing’: at Optical Express was that they used such strong drops for dilating pupils. I couldn’t see a thing. Of course it was well after my vision was completely blurred and I could not read a thing that they wanted me to immediately sign some papers and also immediately book for the surgery. Appalling experience! By the way the drops they used made my vision completely unclear for straight 8 hours.
They almost put me off getting my eyes lasered completely!

The Accuvision approach was completely different. No rushing, very friendly atmosphere, everything explained to the very detail, affordable price – my quote was £1300 in total for both eyes including wavefront treatment, which unlike many other clinics is a standard at Accuvision! No offers of talking up the price for ‘better’ treatments after baiting people with significantly lower advertised prices. I think the moment when receptionist talked to me after my consultation and even advised me to have another consultation elsewhere if I feel like it, gave me the confidence to go ahead. Also taking into consideration that the technology at Accuvision seems so much more advanced than at other clinics – I booked myself in.

Please don’t be scared of the surgery – you are truly in experienced hands and it is seriously painless. I can’t even say the surgery was unpleasant because it happened so quickly – you don’t have a time to think about it. I spent approx. 20 minutes in the treatment room. The actual time of using laser was about few seconds on each eye. Protective lenses were inserted and off I went. On my way home from the clinic while waiting with my friend for a train – I could already read the train times on the board and my friend couldn’t – unbelievable!!! I mean – my vision was a bit hazy and it was like looking through dirty window, but I could see things clearly enough. Next day there was still a bit of haziness but definitely there was remarkable improvement and I watched a bit a TV with sun glasses. 24 hours after my surgery, protective contact lenses were removed and at this stage I was slightly disappointed as I thought right after that I would be able to see without the haziness. This happened in the late afternoon so I went to bed early. What a surprise in the morning!!!! That was it – everything was crispy clear!!! I went flat hunting with my friends and in the evening I even attended a house party. Since then my vision is better than 20/20 and I can’t even imagine anymore what it was like wearing glasses!!

So again, if you can’t decide maybe because you don’t like the feeling of anyone touching your eye, please let it happen, you won’t regret it at all – it’s a very small price to pay for being able to see clearly!!
