Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. I had my surgery already on 09October last year. My vision was not very bad (ca -1.75 on both eyes, but with astigmatism 2.25 on the left eye), but I had to wear glasses at all times( I first was prescribed glasses at age 14 and at the time of my operation I was 38). After researching the internet, I decided to go to Accuvision-both because of the good ratings they received by patients, but I also had a look on their website which I found very informative. I found that they describe everything in detail and that they mention every possible aspect. The first consultation was very good and detailed, it took more than one hour. During the operation, the team was very helpful, the nurse even held my hand which was good as even with all that information ( my mum had even read somewhere that laser-eye-surgery was 99% successful) I was very scared!! The operation, as predicted, did not hurt at all. I could go home after surgery. I felt a bit uncomfortable for ca 3-4hours, then I opened my eyes- and I could see so well! It actually took me a few weeks to NOT look for my spectacles in the morning, and I had to remind myself constantly that I don’t need to wear them. In fact, I can see better now than I used to with spectacles. I am very glad that I did it, and I would advise everybody who considers the operation, not to wait too long. I have noticed that IN GENERAL the prices for operations have gone up recently. I believe that you will not regret taking that step.

I am going to reiterate what 99% of people have already said about the team at Accuvision. As a health care professional myself, I know the difference between bad, good and excellent care and what I experienced last Tuesday at my consultation was superb. All the team certainly know what they are talking about, they explain everything thoroughly and without pressure, it is one of the best examples of informed consent I have experienced. Unlike many other people with comments on this site I do not have a strong prescription (-1.25 both eyes) or high astigmatism. I still however have to wear glasses or contact lenses all the time if I want to see clearly so it is just as much an issue whether you have a high or low prescription! I trawled the internet for hours upon hours doing my research on laser eye surgery and decided that Accuvision sounded the best in terms of professionalism, technology, results and customer feedback. I didn’t even bother having a consultation with any other clinics. As said before a million times, you cannot put a price on your eyesight. During my consultation, it was discovered that even though my prescription was very straightforward, I had very poor night and low light vision (which could partly explain my deep hatred of working night shifts!!) . If I was treated with normal LASIK treatment, I could end up with poor clarity of vision even though I may not need glasses/contacts. By using Wavefront guided lasik, the team at Accuvision are confident they will improve all aspects of my vision. After what I heard Vik and the team explain, there is no way I would even contemplate having lasix conventionally.
As for the price…..I thought that due to my mild prescription the price wouldn’t be too much more than prices quoted at other clinics, but because I still require the personalised Wavefront guided treatment it will still cost me £3600..now I was a little shocked at that, especially on my poor nurses wage!, however its the only way to go for me.

I have booked in for treatment next week (22nd) and am confident I will be receiving the best treatment from a team who really know what they’re talking about.
I shall update you following surgery next week!!!

I had my surgery on the 4th December. After a friend recommended Accuvision to me. With ultra sensitive eyes – (never could wear contact lenses) I thought I might be a problem, but I had absolute confidence in everybody there. I had roughly +3.50 in each eye, an astigmatism & very large pupils. I now have 20/20 vision. The operation itself was not the most pleasant of things to have done – but not painful, but well worth it for the results you get. I had the op in the morning and kept my eyes closed all the rest of the day, as they felt gritty. The next day I woke up & could actually see without my glasses -wow- eyes were a little sore. I think it was about a week before I was comfortable with the feel of my eyes, before the grittiness went. Unfortunately I did get bad bruising from the surgery in my eyes which involved the whites of the eyes going bloodshot – this is probably why the eyes have troubled me longer than they seem to have for most other people. But the redness is nearly all gone now, and the vision I think is still improving.
I would definitely recommend this treatment to anybody and choose Accuvision – they are definitely the best.

what can I say? its truly is a miracle!!!! I’ve had bad eyesight for as long as I can remember. I never really thought id be able to see things so clearly without the aid of glasses or contact lenses ever again…….then I heard about the LASIK treatment and although I was a bit apprehensive at first, decided to go ahead with the treatment and it has been the best thing I have ever spent money on. I had the treatment done in August at about five in the evening. was no pain at all…..couldn’t believe it!!!!! I was in and out of the operating theatre in about fifteen minutes tops. by 8 o’clock that same evening I was watching who wants to be a millionaire with no difficulties in reading the questions on the screen. Unbelievable – but true. waking up the next morning was even more amazing. for the past god knows how many years the first thing I had to do in the morning was put my glasses on. but not any more!!!!! I was able to open my eyes and see everything – I never thought I would ever be able to do that again. it has been just over four months since I had the treatment and apart from a few problems with dry eye (which has now been resolved) I have had no trouble with my vision. I recommend this treatment to anyone who is thinking about having it done. Accuvision is a wonderful place with a calming atmosphere and great staff who are always at hand and looking after you. thank you once again to all the staff for giving me back my vision. it truly is a miracle.

I had my surgery on Friday, 6 December. I had been refused last year by Boots Clinic but after hearing about Accuvision, I decided to give it one more go. I was so convinced they would say no, that had only told a couple of people that I was going.
All of the staff at the clinic made me feel so at ease. I was told that I had a high prescription, astigmatism and large pupils!! Nothing new there apart from the pupils bit. Just the challenge the surgeon was looking for. They were convinced they could significantly improve my vision.
That was it – I entrusted my eyesight to these people that I had only just met. And I had to pay for it. And it is worth every penny. The flap on the left eye dried very quickly and I needed a contact lens on overnight. That was removed the day after. I was very apprehensive for the first 24 hours with the ‘expected’ fluctuations in sight but after 6pm on Saturday the vision just cleared. The night vision took about a week to settle and each day there was significant improvement. The 10-day check up went very well with 20/20 in both eyes.
I can see better than I ever could with glasses and I am so grateful to the team at Accuvision. What a fantastic Christmas present! I want to say a special thank you to Nick for keeping an eye on my Mum who watched the whole thing! THANK YOU
