Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

AccuVision has hundreds of positive patient reviews, making it one of the most popular laser eye clinics in the UK. It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

But is it right for you? If you happen to live near one of AccuVision’s clinics in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Bristol, you may want to pop in for a free consultation, and quiz the eye consultants there. I had bilateral Wavefront LASIK almost a week ago. Surgeon: William Ayliffe, with input from Daryus. Prescription: – 2.75 / -3.00 + astigmatism.

I did find it very painful, as I felt the first part of each flap being cut. However, this happened so quickly that I had no time to flinch! The whole thing is quite fascinating to look back on actually!

With no sedative administered, I also found it VERY hard to stop myself from freaking out! I kept forgetting to breathe, in an effort to keep still! However, I’m sure Accuvision have a good reason for not giving any Valium – maybe it affects the eye muscles?

After the surgery the surgeon said that one eye would heal more quickly if he rinsed under the flap once more. This was duly done, and my eyes were checked twice before I left. I’m sure this extra care would not happen at every clinic.

The discomfort afterwards (‘sand in the eye’) lasted about 4 hours – as did the mother of all headaches after the stress of it all.

But, it was DEFINITELY worth every second of discomfort.
My follow-up check (with Vik AND Daryus) was only 16 hours after the op, and I was told my sight was already above legal driving standard. It has been slowly improving ever since. Outside, it’s an absolute joy. I can see so much detail that I could never see with glasses. At work (in a poorly lit office with artificial light) it’s quite wobbly, and sifting through my emails is quite hard work at the moment. However, I have absolute confidence in Accuvision and I’m sure this will improve with time.

Before surgery I told myself I would be patient, give it time and avoid post-LASIK paranoia about my sight… any thoughts, anyone?

I do have moderate irritation in one eye now, which I had before the surgery anyway . I was told by Mr Ayliffe that it was a group of cysts, and no obstacle to surgery. I have brought my 1-week check-up forward a little to have it checked out – this was arranged at very short notice.

All in all, Accuvision are FANTASTIC! It’s worth the extra money to have such a quality service from people who really care and who have so much knowledge and experience.

Thanks to ALL at Accuvision!

Yet another very happy customer.

I had lasik treatment on both eyes in October 2002. My aim was to achieve good eyesight with out the need for glasses. I am 59 years and my problem was reading and wearing varifocals. I experimented with contact lenses and monovision for about two years before I decided that Lasik and Monovision were the answers. I investigated several clinics and found that Accuvision, although the most expensive, were by far the most reassuring and honest sounding.
My results have been fantastic in that I had my flying licence back within four months and have just today had an independent optometrists examination with the finding that my vision is stable and remains 20/10. He also says that the flaps were the best that he had seen to date.

I had Accuwave Lasik treatment at Accuvision on 19th March 2003, pre-op my eyes were +4.50 right/+5.5 left eye, and opted for a monovision result as I did not wish to wear glasses even for reading! Despite being told of the greater risks, etc., I decided to go ahead and I am very pleased I did! The operation itself was painless and not nearly as traumatic and frightening as I envisioned, the supporting staff and surgeons were very helpful and considerate. Afterwards my vision was slightly blurry but cleared gradually throughout the evening, I followed instructions keeping my eyes shut most of the time after the op and sunglasses on until I went to bed, putting in the antibiotic drops hourly as prescribed until I went to sleep and the eye shields on when I was asleep. On waking the next day the minor scratchiness had disappeared and I could see clearly and read even small print with no problems. On examination on 20th March at Accuvision I was told that the corneal flaps had sealed and the results were good achieving
-050×160 right distance and -050×180 left near – 20/20 vision.
I was also informed that this may fluctuate over the next 3/4 months, but so far so good and excellent as far as I am concerned.

I had my procedure carried out on 12th March 2003. As with other postimonials, the reason it has taken me so long to post my findings on this site (despite my having fervently promised Vic I would do so immediately!) is that I have been having the time of my life since I regained my sight. It has been wonderful and I cannot thank the staff of Accuvision enough for making the whole process so good and of course for their efficiency.

I am one of those rare creatures who actually found the procedure itself quite distressing and I could swear I felt every cut that laser made but I don’t want to unduly alarm anyone who has yet to decide on it as like childbirth, you do forget the pain and discomfort, once it is over and you see the results!!!!!!!!
Furthermore, I made the following mistakes when I went along for my procedure: –
1. I didn’t get anywhere near enough sleep the night before
2. I didn’t wear sufficiently warm clothing and you really shiver in that cool operating room
3. I got myself thoroughly worked up about the whole thing and felt a complete prat when I came out and found (through narrowed slits of sore and watering eyes) that the rest of the post op patients, were happily sitting there in the waiting area, sipping their tea and looking only slightly drained!!!!!!!!
Being the drama queen that I am, I sighed and swooned and the staff could not have been more comforting and reassuring. I recall Mike, Vic and the delectable Darius. The latter saved me from total hysteria during the surgery as the surgeon was I felt, getting rather fed up with my attempts to perform pole vault exercises with my legs, every time the laser was turned on. Darius reassured me and made me feel that I was in safe hands.
You are a lovely bunch of people at Accuvision and I cannot sing your praises enough to all and sundry.

I was longsighted and had surgery on both of my eyes on 14 February 2003. From the moment that I entered the clinic it was apparent how professional and caring all of the staff were.
My consutation with Vik was very detailed and covered all eventualities which I found very helpful without being pushy.
Yes, it was uncomfortable having my eyes clamped open but there was no pain what so ever during the operation. To emphasise the high standards that they set, a minute particle of debris was found to still be in my eye it was removed immediately with no discomfort to me.
Following surgery my eyes felt gritty as previously explained to me. After resting my eyes for four hours I was amazed how much my sight had already improved. The following morning when I went for my check up I was told that I now
had 20/20 vision in both eyes.
To me it has been money well spent and I would go through the procedure again if necessary. One extremely satisfied customer.
