1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

For any one wanting info about Brett Halliday I found this on the website. pretty impressive I think Mr. Halliday trained at Oxford Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London (senior registrar and lecturer). Appointed to consultant NHS post in Shrewsbury in 1990. He has been an independent consultant ophthalmologist since 1997. Mr. Halliday has published papers in peer reviewed journals on diagnosis of glaucoma, acuity after cataract surgery, lens power in cataract surgery, surgery of pterygium, refractive surgery including epikeratophakia and excimer laser contrast sensitivity, surgery for blepharospasm, corneal graft surgery, surgery for keratoconus, two editorials in British Medical Journal, two chapters in text books.

Well its been 10 days since I had my eyes corrected, and I have to say the thing I found the strangest of all in the first 3 days was the fact that I went from being long sighted to being short sighted. But that is normal with long sighted people so it gave no cause for alarm. Today I had a check up and I am please to say I have 20/20 in my right eye and 20/15 in my left. My vision is very clear in the daytime. My night vision is still poor and I am not yet driving at night, but Vik assured me that this will improve over the next few weeks. (as I was already night blind any improvement will be great). My flaps are compleatly sealed and my eyes are looking brilliant on the scans. So its all looking good and that makes me one very happy bunny

I had laser treatment in May 2006 and the results are phenominal! I now have better than 20/20 vision and would recommend anyone who is thinking about it to go and have a chat with these guys at Accuvision. It was worth ever penny.

A valuable site, but the reviews do not often state their prescription. It seems that very few +3.5 or even + any degree are commnented on. Is this due to the lack of sucess in this range?

Has anyone had treatment at the Birmingham clinic of Accuvision? Are the surgeons there from the London clinic?

I had Lasik surgery on 13th June and although I am extremely pleased with the results, I am suffering from very extreme headaches, which seem to last for days at a time, just wondered if anyone else had experienced this, and how long they are expected to last. Thank you.

Just wanted to let everyone that read my previous posting, that the headaches are much better now, just as Accuvision predicted, two weeks and its all over, these people really know what they are talking about, thanks again to them.

Just thought I would give you a little update as to my previous opticians response to my eyes. He said it is the best "job" he has seen in many years, he checked the blood pressure in my eyes said it is completely normal, I had an eye examination and he said that my vision was 6/6 which is the british equavalent to the american 20/20, he said that I am a little long sighted, but not even enough to put a prescription to, and he also said that would probably correct itself. He also checked in the "contact lens" room the cornea and said that he could not even see where the flap had been cut. So all in all, absolutely fantastic, he said that the headaches were most likely due to the brain adjustment and nothing else. So he said he would like to see me in one year just to see if they have improved any further. He asked me which clinic i went to and i told him, he said that if any of his clients asked for a recommendation, that he would recommend them, not bad ay!

I am considering having laser eye surgery and need some advise. I live in the Yorkshire area and so contacted Ultralase in Leeds. What I cant understand is the price difference quoted for Wavefront surgery. £699 here and almost £1500 with Ultralase. This seems such a huge difference in price for what I assume is the same service. Any comments please. Also, can folks say the 'type' of surgery they have had. ie; Lasek, Lasik, Wavefront etc. And has anyone had surgery in Leeds and by what surgeon. I am trying to work through the confusion here and would genuinely appreciate an comments. Paul.........
