Ultralase

I had Lasek at Ultralase, Hammersmith, under the care of Vinod Gupta and am very pleased with the results so far. My prescription was :R) Sph -10.25, Cyl +3.25, Axis 100 and L) -Sph -11.25, Cyl +3.00, Axis 75 plus +2.25 in each eye for reading as at 28 September 2002. I forgot to ask what it was just before surgery! Vinod has corrected my left eye to -1.75 to reduce the possibility of needing reading specs. Very little pain, more a discomfort until the bandage contact lenses were removed yesterday. Left eye vision had not been brilliant until then due to a build up of material, but I passed the eye test and Brendan, the optometrist, expressed himself very pleased with the results, although there is still a bit of waste matter on the cornea which he told me will clear away in due course. I am able to get around freely on my own, but I am wary of driving in the bright sunshine! After 39 years of wearing glasses, I'm free! Surgically, I have found Ultralase most efficient and considerate. However, their administration needs to improve. They lost the details of my application for paying in instalments and had to send faxes etc. before they could operate! On the day after surgery, I went back for a check up and was kept waiting for over an hour after my appointment time (1.50 pm) and had to wait 30 minutes beyond my appointment time yesterday! I have to go back on Christmas Eve for a further check up at 9.45 am and wonder how long I will be kept waiting this time! Anyway, thank you, Ultralase for doing it and Merry Christmas and a spectacle free New Year to all!

I had my eye treated at UltraLase over 11 years ago, by Mr.Tutton at the Clatterbridge clinic. All I can really report now is that my vision was improved by the treatment to a point that I feel I can see better now with nothing than I could before with my glasses. I haven't really noticed any changes in my vision since the treatment, indeed I continue to be able to read clearly without glasses when most of my contemporaries are are starting to need correction. ( I had a mono-vision treatment to help with the reading). I cannot give a complete list of all the advantages of having had the treatment, but just a few things, swimming, skiing, just going out in the rain, not losing glasses or fiddling with contacts. It is hard for me to remember all the advantages, because it has been so long now that I can't really remember being a "glasses wearer". I suppose the greatest encouragement I can give is to list the members of my family who followed my example: 1 Daughter, 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters-in-law, basically everyone who had need was treated and all continue to be satisfied more than 5 years after the last family treatment. I would rate the ULtraLase team at 5 stars based on the high level of care received, and 100% family satisfaction rate (which is a very rare event!)

I had LASIK treatment with Ultralase at their Chester clinic 2 weeks ago. My surgeon was Joseph Karthikappallil. I was short sighted -3.25 in each eye. I was pretty nervous but all went well, an hour after treatment my eyes were in bad pain for 3-4 hours but before I went to bed the pain was mostly gone and I could read the clock on the video! I had another check-up today and from not being able to read the top letter I can now read the bottom line (6/4) with my left eye, my right eye isn’t as good but is close to 6/6 or 20/20. My left eye is better than I’ve ever had with contact lenses/glasses but my right eye isn’t quite as good. I was quite worried with my night vision and how glary/bright lights were at first but that has settled well in the last week and should get better still. Overall I’d rate Ultralase’s service 9 out 10. I spoke to a number of people at Ultralase and Optimax, generally Ultralase seemed far more organised and professional and this gave me more confidence in them but I think Ultralase should provide far more information on LASEK treatment.

It's been over two years since I had my treatment with Ultralase and it really has changed my life. I am now glasses free and although bit of a 'cliche' I wish I had done it earlier.The whole process was excellent from my initial inquiry all the way through to the treatment, I was very impresed. As a keen sportsman not having to bother with contact lenses really made a difference. As Robbie Williams once sang, 'no regrets!.'

Absolutely wonderful, it is amazing to wake up in the morning and be able to see clearly without having to worry about the hassle of putting contact lenses in. Would recommend to anyone.

Completely professional throughout. All the Ultralase people are very kind and answered all questions I had. Ultralase have given me, what amounts to a miracle! I am so grateful.

About 4 years ago I had laser eye treatment with Ultralase and even after all this time I cannot thank Ultralase enough, for the difference it has made to my life. Before my treatment, I was constantly loosing my glasses which was a nightmare and as I couldn't bear the thought of putting anything in my eyes (like contact lenses!) the idea of laser eye treatment really appealed to me. I cannot even remember what it was like to be dependant on glasses, just not having to bother with anything is wonderful. The best time is when I am on holiday when I can jump in the pool and actually see the other people around me. I will definitely keep recommending it to all my friends and colleagues at work. It is the best thing I have ever done.

Everything from the initial consultation, to the operation and aftercare has been absolutely excellent.The surgery was painless and I could see without glasses the very next day. After 40 years of glasses and contact lenses I now enjoy 20-20 vision naturally, thanks to Ultralase.

In June this year I had bilateral Lasik for a -4 prescription but I was not happy with the result and have since had additional treatment at another clinic. Although Ultralase has offered to pay the cost of this, I am still dissatisfied with Ultralase's treatment and their service.
