Is there anything I should know? It’s refreshing to see transparent laser eye surgery prices, and it’s rare for private eye clinics to offer interest free laser eye surgery finance options. However, it’s also worth noting the costs at the Ophthalmic Consultants of London are some of the highest in the industry.

4. Mr Romesh Angunawela Review: The Verdict

So, is Mr Angunawela the right eye surgeon for you? Of course, that all depends on whether you live in London, and how deep your pockets are.

Mr Angunawela features as one of the best laser eye surgeons in the UK, given his extensive experience (even in complex procedures) and thumbs up from customers. It’s also rare to find an ophthalmologist with more awards.

However, he is London based, and – as you would expect from his eye-dropping experience in vision correction – his prices are at the upper end, with even the initial consultation costing £250. If that price tag is giving you goose bumps, there are many other safe options in the UK.

Very professional from start to finish absolutely no hesitation in recommending mr romesh angunawela thank you for your help and advice

I recently underwent corrective eye surgery with Mr Angunawela. I was very short sighted with pre-operative glass prescription close to -15 in each eye. In the consultation Romesh was thorough, reassuring and honest, and after explaining all the options recommended Visian ICL surgery. The booking process was straightforward and the staff were excellent. I had the procedure on each eye done 2 weeks apart. The right eye operation was quick, almost entirely painless and after 2 days i had perfect vision. The left eye was a more difficult procedure and i had a lot of blurring and discomfort afterwards. I was very worried what would happen. Romesh was also concerned, and was brilliant at re-assuring me that it would settle down after a week of drops. Indeed it did, and in both eyes my vision is now perfect. I am happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Angunawela to anyone considering corrective eye surgery.

After a number of consultations with other laser eye companies and no clear guidance for which was the best possible option, I decided to see Mr Romesh Angunawela. Very quickly he advised what would be the best solution, which was to correct my right eye only for long sight. The process from consultation to corrective laser eye surgery was only about a week. the after care was equally good, I was given a bag full of eye drops, lubricants and anti-biotic drops, with full explanation by the nurse. Post-op checks were equally professional, with detailed checks etc. I would recommend Romesha and Moorfields, the whole process took the uncertainty I had prior to the surgery.

Delighted with the result of my ops.

If you’re considering of having this treatment at Moorfields, don’t think twice!

After having worn contact lenses for over 30 years, I decided it was time to explore the possibility of corrective eye surgery. I contacted, spoke with, and researched several organisations, and it quickly became obvious that Moorfields was the ideal choice regarding depth of expertise

I arranged a consultation with Romesh Angunawela who was completely thorough, and reassuringly honest, in his advice.

I chose Visian ICL surgery, and the procedures were performed 2 weeks apart.

6 months on and it is simply the best choice I have ever made

I am delighted with the results, and now wish I’d been braver, and had the procedure earlier. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Angunawela to anyone.

I researched into choosing the best eye surgeon and what equipment/machine is best for laser eye surgery. I chose Mr Romesh Angunawela as he is rated as one of top ten eye surgeons in the UK.

From various articles Moorefield’s have one of the best laser machines in the world. I went with Romesh at Moorfields due to his expertise and skills and his fee includes a 2 year aftercare package.

I was -9.25 in both eyes prior to surgery in August 2014 and Romesh recommended Trans PRK laser surgery the results are amazing. 3 months on I have better than 20/20 or 6/6. I have 6/4 vision I have perfect vision it’s amazing I can now see the bottom lines of an eye chart.

I have no side effects my eyes are healthy. I am now in my Thirties and I wish I had taken a decision to have the eye surgery done earlier in my life.

I would just like to say a big thank you to Mr Romesh Angunawela and his team who were very professional from start to finish. The Optometrist who checked my vision was very professional and thorough. Mr Angunawela checked my eyes thoroughly and recommended which type of eye surgery would be best suited for me.

The pre and after care service is excellent Mr Angunawela phoned me the next day to make sure everything was o.k which put my mind at rest.

I have now recommended my friends and family to see Mr Angunawela at Moorefield’s.
This guy is a legend !

After researching a number of top quality eye surgeons, as well as sifting through Moorfields’ own impressive roster, I picked Romesh, as his training, continued training, experience and extensive list of awards in his profession caught the eye (sorry, couldn’t resist!). I felt that I could trust my sight in his hands. Furthermore, upon meeting Romesh, throughout the consultation stage, assessment, surgery and post- operative care, Romesh and his team were first class.

I could not have had a more brilliant surgeon. He has improved the quality of my life.

After much deliberation I went to see Mr Angunawela regarding the Lens Replacement Procedure.

I was scared, as most people are about the prospect of having my eyes tampered with but from the moment his PA Sonia contacted me to my final follow up appointment I could not have asked for better care.

Everything was explained to me clearly and Mr Angunawela pointed out not just the advantages but some of the disadvantages that may occur as a result of the procedure.

It was not painful at all (and I have a low pain threshold)

More importantly I can now read and see without glasses. The result was almost immediate.

Thank you for enhancing my quality of life.

I began with a consultation with Mr Angunawela, which was thorough, reassuring and honest. He explained the procedure in detail, and was anything but pushy, outlining without prejudice the pros and cons of laser eye surgery. Convinced that I wanted to proceed, the booking process was straightforward, and the procedure itself entirely straightforward. Mr Angunawela inspired confidence, as indeed did the support staff around him, and the operation itself was quick, almost entirely painless, and two weeks after the event, entirely successful. I can see perfectly, have had little to no irritation, and simply have to put in my eye-drops frequently (for which clear instructions are given). All in all, I couldn't be happier and though Moorfields is without doubt at the expensive end, you are certain to receive the highest level of care, the latest technology and top quality surgeons. You only have two eyes...

After researching/visiting several laser eye surgery clinics to compare procedure and prices, I opted to have mine done by Mr Angunawela at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in April 2013.From the very first consultation, Mr Angunawela and his team made me feel completely at ease and spent time with me explaining the procedure, what to expect after surgery and the level of aftercare provided. Of course, this kind of surgery can be risky and is a substantial financial commitment, so being made to feel as though I would be in 'safe hands' was a must. This is implicit in the service provided by Mr Angunawela and his team.I honestly couldn't be happier with the results, which quite frankly, have been life changing. I had very bad shortsightedness, so the correction needed was extensive. Having 20/20 vision is simply amazing, and after attending a three-month check up today, I have been discharged.Mr Angunawela has given me the gift of sight again, and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
