In reply to Ramits question I would like to answer with the following; I had surgery with them a year ago and can vouch for them 100% Their equipment is state of the art and the surgeons amongst the best in Britain. The aftercare I received was and still is excellent. I am always made to feel very welcome whenever I pop in. I have no hesitation at all in recommending them to you. In fact I think that because the company is small, it is more personal and friendly without compromising the treatment in any way. I had also had check ups at high street clinics and chose this one as they made me feel the most comfortable and educated about what they were offering. They also explained the reason for offering my type of treatment against any of the others on the market. Please feel free to contact me again if needed as I know it is a frightening time just the thought of having any treatment done on your eyes. Hope this helps. Lesley

I am planning on getting LASIK with wavefront done on both my eyes and I have my consultation with a surgeon in Viewpoint next saturday. Everything sounds good but I am a bit concerned about their prices.. how come they are so low?? Are they missing something out? £499 per eye with wavefront is too cheap! If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be invaluable to me.

I booked my consultation at viewpoint after a recommendation from my optician. After the initial consultation I decided to go ahead with the wavefront guided lasik eye surgery.

At the time of the surgery my right eye seemed to take forever and it was discomforting. That day my eyes were extremely sore and I had a severe headache. Once I attended my follow-up I was told my vision was 20/20. I didn’t believe this to be correct as I was still struggling with my vision. I then decided to book myself in at my optician and have an eye test which resulted in -0.75 in both eyes. After discussing this with my surgeon I was advised the opticians are only telling me this to sell me glasses. However I continued to struggle with my vision in dim lighting and at night.

It has been just over 2 years since my eye surgery and I have had another eye test at my opticians who have now confirmed my vision is -1.0 in both eyes. My optician stated I was becoming short sighted again and also informed me they have stopped referring customers to viewpoint after they had failed to honour their incentive for referring patients. I then contacted viewpoint who said I had been discharged so it wasn’t there responsibility and it would cost me £80 to have my eyes checked again. I thought this was ridiculous after being an existing patient.

I really should have known better as when I had my initial consultation there was a customer arguing over the phone who wasn’t happy with their surgery. Then when I had my surgery there was another angry customer on the telephone and again the surgeon was claiming it was not his responsibility as the patient had been discharged. I could have pulled out at this stage and looking back now I would have done if given the opportunity again. On one occasion for my follow-up I had travelled all the way to Manchester only to find the clinic closed and my appointment completely forgotten about. I found this very unprofessional.

I advise anyone considering any form of eye surgery to avoid viewpoint at all costs. Even my optician has stopped referring patients to viewpoint after complaints. Viewpoint have since moved to St Helen’s Hospital, St Helens. Please, please beware of this clinic.

For many years I have contemplated eye surgery. My sister who had lens surgery 9 years ago has never looked back and my nephew has also had laser surgery by Mr Chitkara. After plucking up the courage I decided to have a full consultation with Mr Chitkara at Viewpoint. On arriving at the clinic I found the atmosphere to be very professional and friendly. At my consultation I was fully tested and talked through about my surgery and the best way forward. I decided to go ahead with lens implant surgery with accommodating lenses. I had the surgery done in January 2008. I am now completely free from glasses and totally satisfied with my decision. I would whole heartedly recommend this clinic to anyone. The service and after-care is exceptional and the experience was way beyond my expectation. I would like to thank Deepak Chitkara and all his staff for their skills and wish them success in years to come and may Viewpoint grow.

I was always nervous at the thought of having laser surgery as my prescription was very poor and my optician had advised it might not be a good option for me. I went for a consultation and was told that I was not eligible for laser but could have lenses implanted. I was much more comfortable with this option as it is reversible and can be changed in the future. It isn’t cheap but I felt it was worth it and am pleased I have had it done.
I liked having the procedure within an NHS setting as this was local and the staff who looked after me, very friendly. The care was excellent and follow-up also very good.

I had wanted corrective surgery for many years and had always been told that my eyes were too badly damaged to achieve my desired outcome of improved vision , I had recently heard that significant developments were being made in the field of lens exchange and that now maybe with my vision could improve, I was desperate my eye sight was getting worse and impacting on my lifestyle in a big way . I went to one clinic and after testing they informed me that they couldn't help , I was so disappointed, and tried another clinic - I was talking to my daughter about it all and she was concerned about my experiences at these clinics thus far , she asked me to contact a friend of hers who knew off MR CHITKARA and VIEWPOINT clinic , who told me , "if anyone can help you its him "she said - and she was right ! when I arrived at viewpoint the difference in the set up there was immediately apparent , relaxed , professional and more - (find out for yourself visit a couple of clinics and then viewpoint ).I had every conceivable test with Mr Chitkara - lasting 3 hrs and was delighted when Mr Chitkara told me confidently Yes - can do your corrective surgery , lens exchange , cataract removal in both eyes ! the day of my op I was very nervous , Mr Chitkara , spoke with me the night before , in the hospital before the op and after . Not only is Mr Chtkara a very skilled surgeon , he is a genuinely caring man who takes time to talk with you on a level you understand ,After the op I had no pain , 1week later 20/20 vision! Mr Chitkara insists you return for regular check ups and will call you at home if necessary (all incl in price ) its little short of a miracle that Mr Chitkara was able to give me 20/20 vision - but proves going to the right people and place pays - don't take any chances make sure you know your going to the best VIEWPOINT are exceptional I am not one for giving references / testimonials but truly can not thank view point enough thank you Mr Chitkara thank you Anne

A fantastic service from start to finish. The initial consultation was very thorough with Dr Chitkara explaining everything and answering all of my questions. He put me very much at ease. The surgery itself was very quick and painless (the procedure just feels a little weird) and again, I was reassured by Dr Chitkara throughout. There was some initial uncomfortableness for 48 hours (as expected) but I was back at work within 4 days with no further issues. Results wise, my sight is now better than 20/20 in both eyes :) After-care has been first class - Viewpoint are always at hand to assist with any queries be it by phone or in person. Dr Chitkara and his receptionist are very approachable, friendly and will always make time to 'fit you in' should you need anything. Overall, a very pleasing experience and service. Very professional, and highly recommended.
