From first consultation service was second to none. Staff were all friendly and happy to take care of all concerns and calm all nerves (plenty pre-op). Op room is rather scary but not there for long and I had clear results by the time I'd left. By the next day all grittiness had gone and I had better than 20/20 vision. I'd recommend it to everyone! But remember it is an operation and does take a couple of days to get over. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else and have already got friends to have it.

My initial consultation gave me a lot of confidence that Ultralase would take care of me. I particularly liked the fact that I was provided with a 24-hour trial with contact lenses that mimicked the sight I would have post surgery and this was the final thing that convinced me to go ahead. My only disappoitnemtn was with a few facts that arose during my treatment that I would have preferred to have been advised of prior to the actual surgery. These are: 1) The plastic ring that gets pressed onto your eye. 2) The burning smell when the laser is reshaping your eye. Neither of these hurt but they can ‘freak you out’ a bit when you don’t expect it. My aftercare has been first class and probably the most important factor is how friendly but professional all the staff are at Ultralase – especially those in Southampton!

Everyone has been very helpful and utterly professional. Although my treatment was moved from Southampton to Guildford, taxis were provided. The actual treatment was so fast, my wife couldn’t believe it when I stepped into the waiting room to return home. after an afternoon in my darkened bedroom, I was comfortable enough to watch some TV in the evening. My check-up next morning proved the treatment to have been a complete success and I was back at work by 10am. I've followed the instructions for eye drops etc, and have had no problems at all, even now I'm no longer using drops, I haven’t had any dryness. At my one week check-up my eyes had improved to the point where I could read most of the bottom line of the cart – better than 20/20. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

The result is incredible – I was very nervous – surprisingly so – but the process was explained very well and the surgeon was very relaxed and very experience. I felt no pain – however it does cause some irritation – I had LASEK remember but I certainly didn’t need pain killers. Aftercare is good and I wore the eye shields taped to my face – hilarious for my wife! The time post-op has flown past and the results are staggering.
