4. The Verdict
I am really happy with the results. Apart from the machine not working and the long wait, the staff at this Optimax were really nice, friendly and helpful, as was Dr Patel. I would recommend this Optimax. – Tina Gibson

lens replacement went well. Following that I needed remediation treatment on one eye – lazer treatment. I was asked back a total of 8 times to review my eyes but was not explained anything about what or why I should have dry eyes. treat ment for that was hardly explained and I returned many ties without any further treatment scheduled, nor with any explanation of how they would proceed. after a year almost to the day I was given lazer remediation treatment. On the day all the proper tests were carried out before the treatment. However I overheard that my data had crashed to computer which instructed the lazer what to do. Finally after 3 and a half hours someone came to me and said they had solved their”little ” problem and work would now commence. I was really scared by the time I sat in the chair for my eye to be lazered (!) and had to say to the doctor that I just had to trust his expertise that he would not proceed if anything was wrong.
Terrible after care service and lack of information. I wrote complaining to them on March1st (I think) and still have had only an acknowledgement, but no reply to my complaiint. Outrageous! Would not reccommend to anyone.

Eye drops - when I first had op done, I bought some preservative free drops in green bottle for about £1, might have been called 'Revive' but not sure. They were very good. Now I can't get them anywhere. Anyone know/recommend preservative-free drops of partic make?

Hello all-In having Lasek treatment at Birmingham, my prescription is -1.75 in each eye. Has any body else had Lasek with a similar prescription to mine? What were the results ?
Claire Wainwright
Had Lasek treatment done on both eyes at Optimax Clinic, Manchester on 15th April, by Dr Mathen. Was really impressed with thorough tests on my eyes before having surgery. The treatment is completely pain-free and I was kept informed of what was going on all the way through the procedure. After an hour after treatment I felt some discomfort in both eyes which I would describe as being like having soap in your eyes! I went straight to bed after taking pain-killers and sleeping pills and felt much better the following day. A couple of days after treatment I was able to open my eyes fully and could see quite clearly. It has now been almost a week since my treatment and I've been out and about with no discomfort and of course no glasses! Can't wait to find out what my prescription is now at my aftercare appointment. Money well spent and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Hello All I had bilateral LASIK treatment at Finchley Road on Monday (14th April). I am fairly impressed with the results but I do have blurred vision, ghosting, problems with light at night and the right eye definitely seems stronger. Overall, I'm pretty impressed, at best my vision is about as good with glasses and in five days I'm really pleased not to have to be relying on them! Going back for the check up next week - what does this involve - any comments anyone? Also, the visual problems I am experiencing are these fairly typical and am I worrying too much!? I was happy with the doctor but the admin, appointment and organisation left a lot to be desired - felt a bit like a farm! Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome, any reassurance or comments would be helpful. Thanks Darren

I have poor vision -10 in both eyes and I have dry eyes. Is there any chance for me having LASIK treatment successfully.

Had my 6 week check-up & right eye is 20/20 left eye is -50, was told to go back again in 6wks, as it still looks like my left eye is still improving, but I hardly notice the difference now, except when I'm tired. I'm still very pleased with the outcome & with any luck, because of my left eye, I wont need to wear reading glasses in the future.

Just had a check after 2 months and been advised that my vision is better than 20/20. I had to agree as my vision now is even better than it was with contact lenses. Fingers crossed it stays the same

Had my 4 week check today. Left eye great, but right eye unlucky and astigmatism not cured. I've been advised to see how settles down in next few weeks. If no better, retreatment a possibility, or get reading glasses to correct. Anyone else had this situation? At present, my long sight's fine, but the right eye blurs close work a bit, and that bothers me.Any comments/advice welcome.
