2. Laser Eye Surgery Cost
The cost of your laser eye or lens replacement surgery will be between £900 per eye and £1,950 per eye. The two-hour consultation costs £75, which is deducted from the cost of the surgery. Prices depend on your prescription, and the treatment you are suitable for.

Manchester Centre for Vision at Manchester Eye Hospital
Had lasek with wavefront on 29/8/09, it’s been 1 week and my eyes are near perfect.
I can see probably better than with my glasses already. I had the bandage lenses taken out last Monday, 2 days ago, and my eyes feel much better. My eyes are still a little dry but that’s to be expected. I’m still taking the mandatory antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye
drops at the moment. I have artificial tears to provide comfort from the dryness for as long as I like.
Although if it’s only been a week and my eyes are this good, can’t imagine needing them for very long.I researched laser surgery for years before actually going for it. I had consultations with MCV
and one of the main high street clinics. I found there was an element of pressure sales at the
other clinic but at Manchester Centre for Vision there was no sales pitch, just honest
answers to questions. I was given all the options and I decided on Lasek. I could have had monovision
which is a correction for my inevitable old sight but I tried simulating it with contact lenses for
a bit and couldn’t really get used to it. Apparently lots of people can get used to it.
The surgeon, Khalid Ikram, did the surgery, him and his team were fantastic. All the way through the

I cannot praise Dr Ikram and his team at Manchester Centre for Vision enough for their professionalism and care throughout my Laser Eye Surgery procedure.
I had thought long and hard about proceeding with Laser Surgery and when Manchester Centre for Vision was recommended to me I had no hesitation in booking an initial consultation. I had more confidence attending a clinic at the Royal Manchester Eye Hospital than a high street clinic.
I opted for Lasek surgery on the recommendation of Mr Ikram due to my dry eyes, the procedure was painless and quick and I was amazed at the instant results, after having worn glasses for 30 years it was life changing. At the end of the day the decision has to yours and yours alone but I would go through it all again and would have no hesitation in recommending Manchester Centre for Vision to be your No.1 choice when considering laser eye surgery.

After much consideration and research I decided to have my vision correction surgery carried out at The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. From first contact I found all staff members to be very professional and welcoming.
The inital consultation was very thorough and the appropriate surgery was booked for the following 2 weeks.
I had Lasik carried out 4 days ago, immediately after the surgery although my vision was blurred I could see an improvement, I was warned that I would experience varying degrees of discomfort over the next 72 hours. The initial discomfort was just about bearable and would compare it to getting shampoo in your eyes (only not being able to rinse it out) Once home I took the pain relief and sleeping medication provided and went to bed. I woke 12 hours later with no discomfort. I have been applying the provided drops and am having the contact lens bandages removed tomorrow. So far so good, I love being able to see my feet in the shower! The Manchester Centre for Vision have been fantastic and would recommend them to anyone, true professionals. -
i am moderately short sighted and had the Lasik procedure yesterday. it is phenomenal to look out of the window now and see the other side of the street with what i regard to be perfect vision without my glasses. I have worn them for 20 years for everyday life and to not have them on my face anymore is going to take some getting used to.
My eyes are currently a bit scratchy and dry, though i have medication to treat them with. I cannot believe i had the surgery less than 24 hours ago!
I highly recommend this centre to anyone wishing to have laser eye surgery.

Previous to surgery i was very short sighted (about -7.5), and for future career plans i had decided upon laser surgery.
I had consulted numerous websites and done a lot of research prior to treatment, including accessing this website. I discovered that Manchester was the best place to go, even coming all the way from Newcastle.
I was not wrong, and have been delighted with the results and service i obtained. My first visit was with the nurse, who was excellent in explaining the procedure, and did a number of tests to test my suitability. This put my mind at immediate ease. The second part was to meet my surgeon, Mr Leon Au. Mr Au took time in explaining things to me in considerable detail, which was very satisfactory.
I undertook Lasek surgery, which involves more pain but the longer term effects are said to be better. Mr Au demonstrated the equipment, and procedures. The surgery was over in about 10mins, and i did not feel any pain or difficulties due to the anaestetic drops used.
Due to my prescription Mr Au decided it was best not to fully correct my vision as this may cause future problems. However due to the quality of the laser used (0.6mm) the outcome was near perfect.
I was warned about the after pain lasting for a few days, but it was not as bad as i expected. It is best to go with someone as there is no way you can drive back or see very well immediately after. I was given a big bag of drops and medication which eliminated all pain.
After surgery vision is not great, but by the next morning the improvement is vast, and gets better with every day. I am now 2months after surgery and after a series of eye examinations my vision is near perfect.
After surgery, 3 or 4 aftercare visits are required with same surgeon. This was very good, as Mr Au could track my progress at every stage.
I could not be happier with my surgery, Mr Au and Manchester Centre for Vision. It was highly worthwhile and has transformed my life. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
