1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

From start to finish the customer experience I've had with Accuvision has been FIVE STAR! -3 in both eyes to better than 20:20 is truly life changing. While it comes down to motivational reasons to go ahead with the surgery, to have gone through the process with a professional and caring team has made this all the more enjoyable a process. Too many highlights to mention, but being talked through the prodecure by the surgeon during the producure is both engaging and all the more relaxing / distracting. The procedure itself is 4 mins per eye, painless and only some mild discomfort. And the level of aftercare, check ups, wearing a protective lens for 24 hours, and overall advice is clear and direct. I would heartily recommend this clinic to anyone who has decided to go ahead with Lasik surgery!

Like everyone, my eyes are incredibly important to me. I've worn glasses since I was 12 and contacts since 16 and I'm now 23. I'd read a lot about laser eye surgery and after reading a few more reports I decided to go ahead. I was lucky enough to know an Eye Surgeon in London who although doesn't do Lasik, could recommend me to look at Accuvision in Fulham. First contact was just a phonecall and the lady was very helpful. I was surprised at her knowledge and she was comfortably able to answer all my questions. I assumed I'd get through to a receptionist who just answered the phone, but this was great and very reassuring. The consultation was completely free and it never felt like a sales pitch. It was basically an hour long eye exam, similar to what I've had every 6months for years but in more depth. I liked how I could choose to have Dr Rostron as my surgeon. He has a fabulous reputation so I felt comfortable using him. A lot of other clinics just allocate you a surgeon on the day of surgery. They really put my mind at rest so I booked surgery. The big day came very quickly and it was the biggest anti-climax ever! :) When you think about having your eyes tampered with by a laser, you expect it to be a big event. In the end it was just a case of lying back and looking at some hippy lights for a minute or so. You have to keep your eyes shut as much as possible for the first 30mins, but I had a sneaky look at the TV and I was able to read the News24 news items within 15mins of the operation. I was -2.50 and -3.25 by the way. Now 20/15 (one line better than 20/20) and improving all the time. Aftercare has been excellent. I had a 24hour checkup the next day and everything looked good. Felt fine to drive the day after. 1 week checkup lasted about 20minutes and I didn't feel rushed at all. Checked my eyes over again, made sure everything was to order, did another eye test. Very happy to hear my eyes were in great health. It's the best thing I've ever bought. You can't put into words how much easier life is without glasses and contacts. People have commented that my eyes look brighter than before. Off on holiday in a week and looking forward to not having to put contacts in before heading to the beach with sunglasses on. Summary: Laser eye surgery is excellent. The technology has been perfected and its a very safe operation. Much safer in fact than using contacts, which have a surprisingly high chance of infection. Accuvision are SUPERB. Their motto is "Because your eyes are for life". Sure, you could save a couple of hundred pounds by going to a high street surgeon, but the assurance that I was being treated by the best surgeons and technology in the country if not world, is worth the extra. Happy to answer questions via email.

I had my surgery done more than one year ago. I still find it hard to believe how much it has improved my quality of life. All I can say is a big 'Thank you' to all at Accuvision. I had worn glasses since I was 17 - I am now 53. Like they say, it is never too late!

I had my eyes corrected 16 months ago and have to say still pleased with the results. When I had the scans done before treatment Joan was concerned about the narrowing behind my eyes, so I was taken into see Mr Haliday and he explained that it could mean that I would develop glaucoma later on. Since there was no history of this in my family I was not worried. Since then my sister has been told she has closed angle glaucoma and because it was not picked up straight away she has had to have her lens replaced in one eye. I went for a check up with Joan this week and I told her about my sister. Joan done lots of tests on me and has now referred me to the hospital. Before I went to Accuvision I went to Ultralase and they never pick up on the back of my eyes. Also they said that my sister Brenda's (that’s another Sister not the one that’s had the lens replaced) eyes could not be done and she would need lens replacement if she wanted to correct her vision. We both had consultation at Accuvision and it turned out Brenda had less to be done than myself as I had astigmatism in my left eye. Also the price was double at Ultralase. I am so glad I found Accuvision because at least now I will be well looked after...... These people are the top

I researched Lasik Surgery thoroughly and have been patiently waiting for the right service to suit me, after wearing contact lenses for more than 30 years. Accuvision Solihull arranged the suitablility tests on the morning of 26.07.07 and 1 had the surgery an hour later, by my request, because I find the waiting is the worst. The results are brilliant. My dominant eye is now better than 20/20, before it was -4. My left eye has not been fully corrected - this way I have perfect vision close up! I very quickly got use to the separate strengths of vision in my eyes and it means I don't have to wear reading glasses. Also I am lucky because I had dry eyes before surgery - I know its only been 5 weeks, but I have great vision and no dry eyes! Solihull has specific days when surgery is carried out, so several clients are in the waiting room together. I found it reassuring to see others return from surgery (less than 5 minutes) and wait until they were recalled for their final check before returning home. There were clients there who had had surgery the day before, the week before and the month before. You could guess which was which by the width of their smiles! YES, our eyes are so sensitive any thought of something touching them, never mind a laser, is a bit frightening! You have to have total trust in the clinic you choose. My Accuvision surgeon was great, precise and positive. He talked me through the whole 5 minutes I was with him. It didn't hurt at all - Course I was frightened, there was this red light and a funny smell and 10 seconds of slight pressure! But you know, when he said "That's great, now we'll do the other eye." I felt, 'That was a piece of cake" I can do this! I was thanked for trusting the surgeon with my eyes. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these guys to any of my clients, friends or family. They are professional in their care, ABILITY and concern of all their clients. Don't forget, of course the surgery is of vital importance, but it goes hand in hand with the honesty of what can and cannot be achieved, what the consequences are likely to be and the aftercare programme. In time, and I hope its a long time - my eyes will naturally need reading glasses and unfortunately surgery cannot correct this. When this happens I won't hesitate to return to Accuvision to fully correct my left eye so that I will have 20/20 long sight. I hope all the Solihull staff will still be there then... you can't improve on perfection.

I had lasik in June 2002 and I have just had an eye check up on 28th August 2007, 5 years later and I have 20/20 vision in both eyes which is wonderful. I was told after my surgery my eyes were one line better than 20/20 but that I need not worry as that is just a trace and the eyes will not flucuate any lower but every few years will go back to a line better than 20/20 and then may go back to 20/20 again but not any lower which is great so whatever happens I know I will have 20/20 vision and that the vision won't get worse. Before surgery I had very poor vision, approx -6 and -7 and even with my glasses I never had 20/20 vision, I was one line below 20/20 before the op with my glasses or contact lenses. My eyes have never felt better, I have no side effects, and colours are still so much brighter and everything so much clearer, a whole new world. Eyes are priceless and to this day I am so happy I trusted Accusion with my eyes, it is truly the best place. It is fantastic to be able to wake up and see and I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity and thank the surgeon Mr Jacobs and the whole Team. Darius saw me when I came for a check up and recognised me after all those years, remembering all my questions and nerves, even though I trusted Accusion I couldn't help feeling nervous but have never regretted trusting Accusion with my eyes. Anyone who is thinking of eye surgery please don't even consider having it done anywhere else other than Accusion. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.

4 months down the line - vision is excellent, slightly dry eyes when I wake up, but no other problems. Go for it!

Review of Accuvision - Fulham Branch I always dreamt of waking up in the morning and being able to see without the aid of glasses. After wearing glasses (and contacts) for over 22 years, a chat with my Brother and Sister in law persuaded me to have the consultation. Last Friday (7th Sept), I finally plucked up the courage to have the surgery. I was quite nervous but I needn't have been as the staff throughout were professional. They relaxed me by talking to me throughout the short procedure (the actual surgery taking approximately 5 mins an eye). It was painless and after it was done I wondered why I had screwed myself up so much. The fear of the unknown I guess. Revisiting the waiting room after surgery was surreal as the need for glasses no longer existed! I am now 2 days on from surgery and I am so pleased with the outcome. I would throughly recommend the procedure to anyone and thank Accuvision for changing my life. Today (13th Sept, I have just been for my week check up and have been told that my vision is 20/20 and could get better. A dream come true and all down to Accuvision. Rob Randall

I've been thinking about having laser treatment for around 2 years. After visiting 2 other well known clinics, I found Accuvision in Solihull Birmingham to be the right one for me. It was the cheapest and they also made me feel valued rather than just a number or statistic.I felt more comfortable after the intial consultaion and confident they would look after me.I was nervous before I had the laser treatment, but the surgeons and the staff looked after me and I can't fault the service. The procedure literally was over in 10 minutes and was painless. My perscription before surgery was -3.50 in both eyes and now it is virtually perfect. I received the treatment on a Thursday and was driving again by Saturday. I strongly recommend if you are considering laser eye treatment, visit Accuvision for a consultation. The team will look after you. Thank you Accuvision, I can now see my family without looking through glasses.

I had surgery at Parsons Green in London. The service was quick, efficient, utterly painless and in my view excellent value for money. I wish I had it done years ago. I read in my work a lot, and use computer screens regularly. It is unbelievable what a difference this has made to my life. I have now even forgotten that I wore glasses. My main worry was the thought of someone touching my eyes. Because of the anaesthetic you do not even feel that. You are reassured throughout and the actual surgery takes seconds per eye. As soon as I came out the room (a few minutes after the surgery) I could read a TV screen graphics several feet away. It was more like witchcraft than surgery!! Although for many the cost seems a bit high, I was spending about £350 at least a year on glasses and prescription sunglasses. But the personal benefit is priceless. I have already recommended to a number of people to go and get it done at accuvision. Their staff were wonderful. While I was in the surgery, a chap came in and had his initial examination. They offered to do his eyes there and then as it was a surgery day and they had a space. What a service! Imagine going in to have an exam and coming out without specs? If you are thinking about it, stop thinking and do it. You will never regret it. Thanks, Accuvision.
