1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
| Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
| Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
| ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

What can I say: fabulous staff, fabulous service and now fabulous eye sight!!! I got 'zapped' 4 days ago and it's just amazing. The procedure itself is painless and so quick. The only irritation I found was on the first night due to the protective contact lenses they put in, but these were removed at the 1 day check up. Since then - brilliant!! I would highly recommend Accuvision. They were so efficient and professional, yet super friendly.

I STRONGLY recommend this clinic. I had -1.75 sphere on both eyes, plus 2 and 2.75 cylinder left and right respectively. 16 hrs after surgery I could see 21/20. The operation was 5 mins long and very interesting to "watch". I could actually see clearly straight after, but was asked to keep my eyes closed for 30min for obvious reasons (the eagerness was strong, I tell you:-). I used the drops as instructed. Minor itching. I was actually a bit negligent in the immediate post-op because I went shopping and staid up late. The morning after, they took the contacts off. Now, 3 days after, my eyes feel and see absolutely perfect. I'm even tempted to stop using the drops altogether. I think it's important to go for the best surgeon and trust him/her with everything else. Those of Accuvision have A LOT (Dr Rostron has a 25 pages CV!) of VERY RELEVANT and FIRST GRADE Experience. Accuvision's Allegretto Eye-Q 400's are very recent and advanced german technology. Note that Germany is home to companies like Zeiss (the best lenses), Leika (the best cameras), Leo Electron Microscopy (very advanced electron microscopes). Competitors of Accuvision were very vocal with me about their Visx S4's because they know a lot has been publicized about them out there. It's only because they are American and they have a strong market penetration there. But the situation has been changing rapidly since the Eye-Q 400 was FDA-approved in 2003 and a big part of the new machines sold there since 2003 are Eye-Q's. A clinic with weak surgeons will certainly try to sell how great and popular their Visx is.

It's been nearly a month since I had my treatment and I'm so pleased with the results. Accuvision were fantastic throughout the process and I simply cannot fault the service I've received. Although the surgery was completely painless and the staff were very calming, I nevertheless felt pretty freaked out when I lay on the table and the procedure begun. However, after the first eye was underway & I realised that it really wasn't scary at all, I was much more relaxed - just lay back and enjoyed the "light show". My vision was excellent when I came out of surgery and I really wanted to look around rather than keeping my eyes closed and rested. My eyes were a little uncomfortable (slightly "gritty") for the first two days - but I found resting them helped a lot & was a great excuse to listen to books on tape all weekend. I then had pretty dry eyes for about a week afterwards which were relieved by artificial tears. Overall, it was well worth a little discomfort and I'm now amazed each day at how great my vision is. I no longer need eye drops and my concerns about my night vision becoming poorer are completely unwarranted. I've already recommended Accuvision to two of my colleagues (one who has already had her eyes done there now) and would recommend it to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

Ok, lets try again...... All done now and absoluteley amazing, had the surgery last Tuesday, and can not beleive how painless it was, ok a little unpleasant but nothing to worry about at all, for a couple of days before all sorts of thing were going though my mind, I actually thought about cancelling and going back to contact lenses, thank god I didnt. On the day I was shaking from head to toe and all the staff were so fantastic in reassuring me, they said that they love to see people like me because I was -7.00 in both eyes, the results are so amazingly different. The surgery from start to finish took about 8 minutes, and I could see better after than before. I went home that night and sat with my eyes closed for the evening (although I kept peeking), my husband said its like having a porsche sat on the drive but not being able to drive it!, football was on tv and I kept peeking, it was amazing I could see the names on the shirts. Well now perfect, almost 20:20 on next days check up and going back again on Wednesday, but for anyone in two minds just go for it, it is absolutely fantastic, I just keep chuckling to myself, people think i'm mad. Thanks very much to all the staff at Accuvision, they have changed my life so much, they asked me to trust them with my eyes, and I am so glad I did, words cannot possible explain how greatful I am.

Hi my name is Jinny and I had my eyes done at accuvision 24th April..........I was + 3.00 left with astigmatism and +2.5 right................I am very pleased with my eyes. My 2 sisters who are older then my (I am 50) had an even higher plus script and they are also really pleased with their eyes. I hope this helps you. Anyway the consultation is free and the best eye health check you can get. I was told by Mr Halliday that my scans show that behind my eyes are very narrow and this is an indication that along with my long sightedness I could develop glaucoma at some point. So now they have this info they will keep an extra check on me from now on. So not only have I got great vision now I know that my future vision is in very safe hands.........Email me if you want to kind regards Jinny.

The staff at ACCUVISION truely are miracle workers, I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment I arrived in the clinic, the customer care was excellent. The prep work was conducted thoroughly and every single step was explained clearly in plain English. (Great job Vik!) For what must have been the most worrying moments of my life so far, the surgery turned out to be a near to painless, 10 minute miracle!! (I'm eternally greatful Mr Rostron) Don't expect to be zapped and to be able to drive home right away but within 24 hours, my slight itchyness had disappeared and I still can't quite believe that I dont need contact lenses/glasses any more!! Once again - THANK YOU ACCUVISION - Your company rates 20/20, as now does my vision!! Stuart Bottomley

Hello. I had laser treatment at Accuvision yesterday (25th July) at 4pm..so the experience is still very fresh. My prescription was left eye - 10, right eye - 7.25, with an astigmatism of 165 in the left eye. As I was travelling from Somerset, I booked the consultation and treatment for the same day, and didn't know if I would be suitable or not for the procedure until my appointment.. At the end of the consultation I was advised that because of my unusually thin cornea (490), a 'perfect' outcome could not be achieved, and asked if I was content to undergo the treatment with the understanding that I would still need glasses or lenses for certain activivities. I had already decided that I would want to proceed, and settle for a significant improvment in vision, so I said yes. There was absolutely no pressure and in fact alternative treatments were discussed openly. A little over 24hrs later, my vision is remarkably improved, particularly distance vision. Near vision is still rather filmy, but I'm typing this with no problem. My consultant explained that the surgeon was able to cut a very thin flap, so that there was more available tissue to laser, and therefore a better outcome was likely. I was extremely impressed with the staff at Accuvision - a combination of professionalism, integrity and compassion. There was no hard sell at all, and evidently a genuine concern for the patient's wellbeing is to the fore.. The op itself was rather uncomfortable and a very strange 10 minutes, but painless and over very quickly.. So far, so good..even at this very early stage I'm delighted with the transformation in my vision..

I cannot praise the staff at Accuvision enough. This was one of the scariest times of my life and they were superb - professional, caring, thorough. I will be recommending them to anyone who wants to listen. Thanks also to those people who went before me & offered support & advice. Much appreciated.

I had my eye surgery on Thursday at the Solihull clinic and am 100% satisfied with the service and the treatment. I am normally a nervous wreck when doctors or dentists are concerned but I felt nothing but calm and relaxed at the clinic including DURING the surgery. Accuvision were recommended by several work colleagues and I myself recommend them to others. It is wonderful to be able to see clearly without specs or contacts!!

In summary I would like to highly recommend AccuVision. 10/10 on all counts in my opinion. {long version} My surgeon was Mr Chad Rostron and I was seen throughout the consultation, surgery day and aftercare by Mr Patel. I have just got back from my 1 week post-op check-up and have had confirmed what I already thought – my vision has been corrected to 6/6. The surgery was carried out smoothly, seamlessly and very professionally. I can honestly say I felt no pain whatsoever. My prescription was quite a simple one with a little astigmatism in my right eye. I had a consultation with a leading competitor who suggested that really I should be opting for the Rolls-Royce treatment with intralase, zyoptics and goodness knows what else at a price of £3,600. In my opinion there was a good deal of pressure to book up there and then. This same company was staffed with generally young people who at the time of my appointment were larking around. The surgery was not dissimilar to your average rented office space. I also had the experience of being shoved around to at least three different people and had to have multiple re-tests which appeared to be as a result of operator errors etc. The technology was pretty amazing though – state of the art! I then went to AccuVision in Solihull. What struck me immediately was the fact that I walked in to a spotlessly clean, sterile clinic. There was no mistaking the fact that this place did surgery seriously. I was seen by a consultant who checked my eyes over and talked me through the whole process – start to finish. I quizzed them about the lasers they use and the differences in prices between companies and service. I genuinely felt the company cared about you and was providing a good, honest and quality service at a fair price. I opted to have the surgery done pretty soon after the consultation and went to the London surgery, I have to say I was a little anxious not just about the operation but also about whether I would find a similar environment and staff. I was not disappointed and I was pleased to see the familiar face of my consultant from the previous week. Conclussion: I think that the more expensive companies maybe taking advantage of people’s fears. What price would you put on your eyes and the success of a surgery? At the end of the day though, I have normal vision after a surgery with no pain – I fail to see what over £2,000 extra could possibly have given me, especially given the issues I have suggested around customer service. !
