Very helpful, polite staff. I was extremely nervous about undergoing such a procedure at a young age. The staff and surgeons reassured me and talked me through the procedure. I waited 20 years for this! Back in 1988 - only PRK was available and it was largely experimental with no guarantee of outcomes. Ten years later, Lasik is available but I had real concerns over the potential complications - many of which where associated with mechanical cutting of the flap using a microkeratome. The possibility of "button-holing" or imperfect flap alignment causing optical irregularities just wasn't worth the risk - IMHO. I finally had IntraLasik eye surgery on 3rd December 2007. IntraLasik uses a laser to cut the flap - considerably more precisely and cleanly than a mechanical method.
