Mr Vincenzo Maurino holds the post of Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where he specialises in laser vision correction, laser cataract surgery and corneal transplantation. He also holds the post of Adjunct Professor of corneal surgery at the prestigious University of Rome Tor Vergata.
He completed is MD training in Italy and become board qualified ophthalmologist in Italy in 1994 and then moved to London in the same year to complete specialist fellowship training in laser refractive surgery, corneal transplant surgery and cataract surgery at world leading Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Mr Maurino is a member of the American and European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS, ESCRS,) as well as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the European Corneal Society (EuCornea). He also seats on the scientific committee of the SOI and the board member of the SICCSO. He is a regular invited speaker at international conferences and instructs on a number of courses to other ophthalmologists on laser refractive surgery, corneal laser assisted transplant surgery and femtosecond laser cataract surgery.
He specialises in advanced wavefront guided LASIK and LASEK laser eye surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism; safe correction of the highest degree of myopia and astigmatism with implantable contact lenses and state of the art laser corneal and cataract surgery with premium artificial lenses. He has published in all of those fields in international peer reviewed journals and has presented at national and international meeting well over 100 times.
Mr Maurino performs laser surgery exclusively at the world famous Moorfields Eye Hospital in central London but his clinics are both at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Harley Street area.

I have recently undergone treatment on both eyes which was carried out by Mr Vincenzo Maurino. This was one of the most important decisions I had to make; I could not have chosen a better consultant. The initial consultation was very thorough. Mr Maurino consulted other peers on my treatment to give piece of mind and was available on the phone to answer questions. This was invaluable as the time during the first appointment was minimal. The surgery experience was very smooth. Mr Maurino’s team were reassuring and explained clearly what would happen.
