Mr. David O’Brart has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in private practice and at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Trust since 1996. The Guy’s and St Thomas’ group contain one of the world’s leading medical schools and the Ophthalmology Department has an excellent reputation both in the UK and internationally. Mr O’Brart was the director of Glaucoma and Corneal Laser and Refractive Surgery within this department from 1996 to 2006 and has now moved to become the director of Refractive, Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery.
I would have preferred to spend more time with the surgeon and understood the surgery a little better.
had my eyes done early May 2011. It just gone 2 months, so far so good. Think there is still a tiny bit of shortsightness left but I haven't even thought about glasses or the operation for the last few weeks now.have another follow up booked with Mr O'Brart later this month, let's see how my eyes recovered.
I had LASEK performed by Mr O'Brart in July of 2006 and 3 years on I have perfect vision. I cannot recommend Mr O'Brart highly enough. He is obviously incredibly experienced and knowledgeable, and I found him to be utterly professional and highly reassuring. Everything was explained beforehand so I knew what to expect.I did find the LASEK to be very painful, particularly on Day 2, but by the end of Day 3 the pain has subsided. I was driving again after 7 days.Mr O'Brart gave me his home number, and also called me several times over the weekend to check on my progress.Fantastic.
