Mr. Sathish Srinivasan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Ayr and Crosshouse Hospital, Ayrshire and Arran NHS, Ayrshire, Scotland. He has expertise in the field of micro incision cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery, medical and surgical diseases of the cornea, ocular surface and anterior segment reconstruction and laser refractive surgery. He serves as the lead consultant for the corneal service at Ayr and Crosshouse hospital.
Following his higher surgical training in Ophthalmology at St. Paul’s Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool, Mr. Srinivasan completed a two year clinical fellowship in Cornea, External eye diseases and Refractive Surgery at the Toronto Western Hospital, Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada from 2005 to 2007. Through his training and research he as authored over 60 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international ophthalmology journals.
He has special interest and expertise in complex cataract surgery, advanced corneal transplantation techniques including partial corneal transplants and iris reconstruction. Mr. Srinivasan has a passion for teaching and training junior doctors. He routinely teaches surgical techniques for trainee doctors in the NHS and serves as a member of the teaching faculty at major international professional meetings including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Mr. Srinivasan is actively involved in clinical research and regularly presents scientific papers in international ophthalmology meetings. In recognition of his work he has been presented with the International Ophthalmologist Education Award and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
