I had a laser surgery 6 years ago in 2010. Still 20 – 20 vision. 0.25 on one eye
Side effects: slight dryness for the first few month and it was difficult to look at the train departures board where the writing is done by light like the one in Waterloo for about 4 months. It was one of the best things I done and would not hesitate to do it again if I ever had to.
Had my eyes treated via the Lasik AND Lasek method. Found him very curt, non-empathic and impatient the first time round (I was extremely nervous and beside myself with anxiety) but when I went back for LAsik, I told him how I’d felt the last time and he was MUCH better. His South-African accent can make him sound a little harsh.
I had my surgery 3 days ago (18th Nov 2011) and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I was sick of being specs dependent and from the moment I walked into Optical Express in Harley St to the time I left was 35 minutes. Rodney was excellent and very professional. I was a little nervous but the staff were great. I can't recommend this surgeon and Optical Express more.
I had my eyes done last week, intralase wavefront costing 3k in total to correct -2.25 myopia. Rodney Blumenfled doesn't have a great bedside manner, but seemed competent and that's the most important thing in my mind. I did feel the surgery was done quickly, I didn't like that I was still able to blink after the eye drops, nor that my head wasn't secured and in fact asked to tilt my head. I was out after 15 min or so. No real pain, the suction cup on the eye was uncomfortable. A week later I still have a slight blood shot eye. I have high visual acuity, but glare is a huge problem. I'm told that will diminish overtime. I was even laughably told the brain would learn to ignore it, more reasonably another told me its to do with refraction of the unset cap. I have continually asked for the wavefront contour scan, but have to wait for that next month. I fear the laser alignment wasn't done very well; but we will see. I remain optimistic, even with the glare it was definitely worth it as its for life. I currently have 6/4 (20/13). hope this helps another.
I must say that six month after my surgery at Optical Express, my vision is excellent. I have 6/4 vision, no glare or halos during the night, so in one word perfect.I am very pleased with this vision correction method. Forget about spectacles and contact lenses and go for this surgery.
I found Mr Blumenfeld to be excellent. He explained the procedure to me carefully and was courteous, without being over emotive. The results of my surgery have been fantastic - I had -2.75 in both eyes, and now have better than 20/20 vision and excellent night vision. I had the surgery in early 2009 and have had no problems since.
I booked with Optical Express twice.. and then cancelled because of post booking fears.Anyhow in December 2010 I received a text message from them with an offer, and after speaking to a friend who had Lasik from OE 2 years back and perfect results (better than 20/20 vision) I thought lets just do it.I had my treatment with Rodney exact 1 month back from todays date at the Harley Street OE. He was to the point and willing to answer any questions. After the laser eye surgery I had a heavily bruised eye as a cause of the ring coming out twice during the procedure - so in appearance it looked dramatically red - the white of the eye was mostly red. However a month on it is all gone, and most of it went in the first 2 weeks. Results - I have better than 20/20 vision. Never had any light glares at night or any issues whatsoever with night vision. 1 month on I can say the more time that passes the better and more comfortable your eyes feel with the new sight - the healing process I guess.Whilst OE is dealing with large numbers of patients - I do feel their clinical standards are excellent and as a person who was very nervous I can say I would recommend anyone for Lasik.

I had my Lasik surgery done last year at end of July. My Rodney has been very nice during the surgery and talk me through the process. Although after the surgery, I have suffered through a week of painful experience but the result came out rather great. Now I have visual sight of 1.5 (right eye) and 0.75 (left eye).
I had surgery (Intralase, wavefront and lasek) on 25/08/08 with Rodney Blumenfeld. I was extremely nervous prior to and during the surgery but Rodney and his team put me at ease and talk me through everything they were doing. The day after I have bloodshot eyes, which I was told I would but clear vision. Really Impressed.
