Mr Mathai graduated from Kasturba Medical College, one of the premier medical universities in India. He commenced his training in the UK in 1992 and was awarded the Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1994.
He helped establish Visualase Laser Eye Clinic in 2001 and has since helped build the clinic into one of the most successful laser refractive surgery practices in the North-West.
In 2006 he moved to India to set up a busy laser surgery unit in Manipal Hospital, Bangalore before returning to the UK in 2009, and currently works as full time consultant in the NHS.
Mr Mathai has been performing refractive laser surgery including LASIK and LASEK since 2001, and Visualase are delighted to have one of our original surgeons back here with us.
He has presented his results to the All India Ophthalmology Congress and has given radio interviews and talks to professionals.
