This clinic has over 12 years experience in delivering clinical excellence and can guide you through the process every step of the way.

As a private independent clinic, it provides extremely high levels of customer service and personal attention, claiming that over 99% of its patients would recommend it to family and friends.

These eye doctors have a wealth of experience, having performed over 50,000 procedures between them. This one-to-one time with your treating doctor, as part of your decision making process, is surprisingly rare, and is not offered as standard by many of the other laser eye clinics.

When you come for a consultation at Visualase – you talk to your doctor – not a salesperson. It can be reassuring to meet your doctor in advance, and have your questions answered. What’s more Visualase’s unique blend of the latest technology, surgical skill and patient care are impressive – though some of the top eye clinics in London are even more advanced.

Visualase is on a mission to help more people in the UK enjoy sports, hobbies and holidays, without the hassle and inconvenience of glasses and contact lenses. That’s why it comes fifth in our list of the five best laser eye surgery clinics in Manchester. Just remember that Visualase only offers laser eye surgery – if you’d prefer lens replacement surgery, you might want to keep looking. Lost all my reading vision! I wear glasses more now than ever. Have dry eye pain too!

In July 2011, Visualase Bolton (Hilary Smith) sent me the following offer "You recently entered our competition to win free laser eye treatment. Unfortunately your name wasn’t drawn, however we can still offer you an amazing price for your treatment. The cost of customised Wavefront guided LASIK is £2,390 – but you will only pay £1,500" I proceeded to undergo the treatment in October 2011, after doing my right eye, I was found to have a loose epithelium, and decided not to have my left eye done. After doing my right eye I noticed severe night and low light issues and was told this was absolutely normal and they had run all their tests and everything was fine, just taking time to heal due to the loose epithelium. I allowed them to do my left eye (lasek) in February 2012.. instantly I knew something was wrong as I now had the same low-light issues in both eyes. The problems I experience are tremendous amounts of glare and starbursts in both eyes, this is during the day when in doors, under artificial lighting in doors and at night its at its worse, horrendous starburst, glare, and double vision. I went back to the clinic 3 times, I saw their optometrist Angela who claimed I had dry eye. The next week I saw Dr Doyle who told me I was simply over corrected and not to worry, the week after that I saw Dr Hynnes who couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and told me my brain would simply adapt. I asked Hilary Smith the clinic manager to pay for a second opinion at Moorfields, who refused and told me that there was nothing wrong with me. She arrogantly told me that her 'surgeons had done 30,000 eyes between them and they have seen it all' I went to see a Professor at Moorfields eye hospital, who told me they never gave me the wavefront-guided treatment, in fact they had given me wavefront-optmised. They hadn't even performed wavefront scans pre or post op, and in actual fact the only suitable treatment for me was a wavefront-guided treatment, the very treatment that they offered to me as part of their discount offer. What kind of surgeons make decisions about your eye sight without running a basic wavefront scan? I must now make a decision as to under go a treatment at Moorfields and as they are refusing to pay for it, I will have to pay myself. They have no morals or decency, by not offering to pay for my treatment in writing, refusing to pay for my second opinion and actually ridiculing me when I told them that there was a problem. They have cheated me out of my eye sight. I have raised an official complaint with this company and I am waiting for their response. I have a 15 month old baby, a wife, a disabled parent and a partially sighted parent to look after. I can no longer drive at night confidently, watch TV at night (which I always loved doing) and many other things. I have been left with severe depression, anxiety, guilt and anger. Tell me what kind of clinic would do this to someone? Please stay well away from this clinic, I would recommend going to a real clinic / hospital like Moorfields, Manchester Eye Hospital or the Centre for Sight.

Very very pleased with the results. The staff and doctor were fabulous on the day, I wasn't in the least bit worried. I was in no pain whatsoever at anytime throughout the procedure or afterwards. I was able to drive and go back to work the next day. Would recommend the clinic and treatment to anybody. A big thank you to all the team.

I visited a couple of clinic, Visualase being one that I was recomended by a relative. The admin staff were excellent, made me feel very relaxed, the consultation with the surgeon was great, he explained everything in simplistic terms but in great detail even showing me the theatre and how each bit of the process worked. The treatment itself was very quick and painless. ALL aftercare has been fantastic. This is the best thing I have done. Visualase made me feel like a person, not a number on a lsit like other clinics

I recommend Visualase in Bolton without hesitation. All the staff helped make me feel comfortable from the first visit. I chose Epilasik at first but Mr Heaven advised me to go for Lasik as it suited my prescription better and also my expectations of the surgery. With a small child I needed a procedure with the shortest recovery time. I was really amazed that by day 2 I was seeing well with no discomfort, bright light did not bother me and I had no pain. I can honestly say that I have had more discomfort and trouble after visits to the dentist. I was given extra eye drops to take with me on holiday. If you have worn contact lenses for years and are used to 'handling' your eyes then you should find the surgery easy. It really isn't as bad as you might imagine. Weeks afterwards I still find myself thinking that I've got my lenses in. Thanks again to everyone at Visualase. Keep up the good work. x

Had the treatment in June 2014. I couldn’t see 2 yards infront of me clearly without glasses before the op. Now my vision is perfect. No more glasses. Massive confidence boost aswell. Very helpful and informative. Would recommend. The doctor and all the staff were very helpful and made me feel at ease all the way through the process.

Thank you Visualase

I have recently had laser treatment at Visualase in Bolton. All the staff are excellent from the receptionists to the surgeons and optomerists. You will not receive better treatment, care and results. I went from being very short sighted -7.25 and now after treatment over a couple of months I am 0 which means my eyesight is perfect. A big Thankyou to the team who have freed me from glasses / contact lenses and enabled myself to see clearly. Best Wishes Howard Pendlebury xxx

I went to visualase 6 months ago to correct minor short sight. I fully intended to have both eyes done and budgeted for this. After taking advice from staff at visualase they suggested I just have one eye done, as one eye was fine. This halved the cost to me and they said if I wasn't happy with the result I could always have the other done in the future. I went through with the surgery and am very very happy with the results 6 months on. Glasses are a thing of the past and going to the cinema, driving etc so much more better. Visualase could have easily talked me into having both eyes done which they didn't despite a lesser profit for them. All the staff were excellent and really friendly, especially Elaine on reception. I would have no hesitation to recommend visualase, especially if you prefer a more personal service rather than dealing with one of the larger faceless companies and their high volume low satisfaction methods.
