I had lasek done at hammersmith about months ago. Originally was going to have lasik but followed their experts advice and had lasek. Ultralase excellent throughout, incl when I got poked in the eye a week after surgery (fully recovered). I was very nervous, especially with the switch to lasek, but it was all fine and almost completely painless. One word of advice - if you have lasek get some audio books in to last the first 2-3 days, during which time you're pretty useless, and don't assume you're going to be driving for the first week or two - I understand lasik is much quicker recovery.
