I had been considering laser eye treatment for some time before I finally decided to have them done and someone told me about St James Laser Eye Clinic. At my consultation Mr Morrell (the consultant) was excellent and explained everything to me in full and went through various tests and advised me that I was suitable to have the treatment. He made me feel in safe hands and put me at ease. I was provided with 5* star treatment and support from the very beginning and I have just had my 12 month check up and my vision is 20/20. I have had fantastic results and I now think why did I put it off for so long. All through my treatment I always saw Mr Morrell which is reassuring including follow up appointments. I highly recommend this clinic and the Lasik treatment I received. Many thanks to Mr Morrell and all his supporting staff.

Going from incredibly short sighted (-6 and -7.5) to perfect vision for both distance and reading is fantastic. I had put off ever having laser surgery because I cannot bear for anyone to go anywhere near my eyes! Mr Ball and his staff have been superb in every aspect. The aftercare was second to none and because the technology is so advanced, I had minimal discomfort on the first evening, and none at all thereafter. The technology has also meant that my eyes are good for both distance and reading. I would strongly recommend you go for a consultation.

I had outstanding service from my consultant Mr. Andrew Morrell. The rest of the staff were also brilliant – very professional, efficient and caring. I went from a vision of -5.75 and -5.25 to almost perfect vision. My left eye still has a very slight prescription but not enough to warrant wearing glasses. As an active person who likes to run and walk outdoors, it has changed my life. The extensive and attentive follow-up for over 12 months afterwards was also brilliant.

Treatment went well, I had a quite high prescription (borderline for successful results apparently, -7.0 in one eye -6.5 in the other, both with some astigmatism). Mr Ball was very competent and reassuring throughout the procedure, and seems a down to earth bloke which helps reassure you! Only slight shock for me was that the “slight pressure” you feel when they cut the flap in your eye is a bit of a toe curler, I’d compare it to someone pulling the hairs on your arms. Vision is now better than it ever was wearing contacts, and improving still (treatment was a couple of months ago). Its £3000 regardless of what treatment they use – they just use the best for you – and if you need a top up treatment, that’s included in the 3k as is all the aftercare (which is for a year). Only minor problem was that I had trouble getting through to them as the phone number on the website was incorrect – I think this has been fixed now – so if you’ve tried them and couldn’t get through – try again!!

The professionalism and pride which St James Laservision staff take in the treatment of their clients cannot be faulted. After 43 years of putting up with glasses and contact lenses, I now have almost perfect vision, as predicted by Mr Ball. With leading surgeons, superb facitilties,and the backing of the NHS, I have abosolutely no hesitation in recommending St James Laservision to anybody considering laser treatment.

I had multifocal lens implants in October 2014 under the supervision of Mr Andrew Morrell, one of the two consultants, at St James Laser Vision. From the initial consultation, to establish if my eyes were suitable, right through to my final follow up appointment earlier this month everything went smoothly and I am delighted with the results. The only glasses I now wear are sunglasses! At each appointment I saw Mr Morrell and on two occasions I also saw the optometrist, Tim Hunter. It was reassuring to have the NHS link and also be able to phone/turn up if there was anything concerning me. The whole procedure was thoroughly explained and at no time was I under any pressure to go ahead with surgery after my initial, no obligation consultation.

The results were excellent and exceeded my expectations .I have not needed any glasses since the procedure and can read and also work at the computer without strain .Great distance vision as well. Quite life changing in fact. Everything explained in a sensible way and good aftercare . Felt more confidence because of the NHS link.

My advice - do it........... Undertaking any type of surgery is a concern. When you are doing it for 'cosmetic' reasons you therefore have to be as confident as you can be that the outcome will meet your expectations. The treatment at St James met my expectations, the outcome has been excellent - no more glasses or contact lenses, 4 months on I am still suprised how good things are. I felt I was treated as an individual and all my questions were answered. There was no 'hard sell' and I felt the decision to go ahead was mine - but I was clearly told the facts and risks involved (minimal). The fact that this centre is also in the biggest Teaching Hospital in the country gave extra reassurance. From my experiences - I can highly recommend the treatment at the St James's centre and Mr Ball.
