I went to the Chelmsford clinic for my consultation and after various tests I was told that I was able to have laser surgery. After much thought I decided to book myself in for the treatment. On the day I was nervous but excited about having it done. When I got there I was seen by the surgeon who was going to carry out the procedure for me who checked my eyes again and said everything was fine. I was taken to see the nurse but as I was with her I was called out again by the surgeon who said he needed to do more tests as there was something he wasnt sure about. I had another test done which he got the receptionist to do and when I went back to see him he said that he couldnt carry out the procedure as there was a problem with my corneas. Apparently one of them was too steep. When I asked him why wasnt this picked up at my consultation he told me that "It must have been overlooked" which was a bit worrying to be told. I was very upset as I couldnt have the treatment but was more worried thinking that there maybe something wrong with my eyes. I decided to obtain a second opinion and went to see Mr Clauoe at Optimeyes. I told him what happened and showed him the scan picture of my eyes that they took and he was quite surprised. He ran various tests on my eyes including the steepness of my corneas and it turned out that they were perfectly normal and I was able to have laser surgery. I thought that going to Ultralase I would be safe as they are a big and well known company but I would never recommend them to anybody. If I had had it done there I dread to think what could have happened.
I wear variavocals can I still have laser treatment?
