At Face & Eye we have only NHS accredited Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeons, trained and specialised in England and the United States. We are qualified to offer the most appropriate procedure for you as an individual, whether that is laser vision correction (LVC), intra-ocular lens surgery or no intervention at all.
We feel it is important that you have confidence in the surgeon who will perform the surgery. At Face & Eye your assessment will be with the surgeon him or herself so you will have ample time to ask any questions you might have. He or she will test your eyes to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for refractive surgery. If he feels that you may be suitable for laser vision correction at this point, an appointment will be made for further tests, followed by the treatment itself.
If your surgeon feels that your eyes are not suitable for LVC this will be discussed with you. However, all our practitioners are very highly skilled consultant surgeons and are able to offer you a range of procedures to correct your vision, as it may well be that other options are more appropriate for you.
We advise that you then go home and take your time to consider the options, speak to your family and other patients, book a further consultation or simply go ahead and book your surgery.
We will only advise those refractive surgery treatments that we feel are likely to give you the best chance of achieving your goal.
Since I was five I have had really bad eye sight, my mum asked me did I see that plane, the answer was no. I wore glasses that were really thick which I paid a lot of money to have the glass thinned down so they did'nt look like milk bottle bottom's and from the age of fifteen wore contact lenses. My eyesight was to bad to have laser treatment It would not work. Forty Eight years on I have been having trouble with my eyes, Not being able to wear contact lenses, Redness and cloudness. After going to the optometrists to have my eyes tested i found that I had cataract which led me to Mr Ikram at Face and Eye which the Customer service I received from the reception to surgeon was excellent.(I did try another place which made me feel like I was on a supermarket conveyer belt, not good) This was a life changeing operation for me and since I have had this procedure I found that you don,t have to have Cataracts to have this procedure done. If there is anyone out there and is thinking about this procedure I would recommend it. Its the best thing to wake up in the morning and see straight away, not reaching out for your glass's, holding reading books to your nose. I would recommend going to see Mr Ikram at this clinic first because of the treatment you receiave is first class (home from home) and any questions you have that you forget when you first meet are always answered by phone or email, and you need to feel that trust with everyone who is dealing with your eyesight. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at FACE AND EYE AND ESPECIALLY MR IKRAM.
