I had LASIK Wavefront at Ultralase Tottenham Court Rd on 01/04/10 and i have to say i feel like i have made the biggest mistake choosing Ultralase over Optical Express. After my consultation with both, i felt a lot more confident with Optical Express but reading the positive reviews on Ultralase with their adverts of 'best laser surgeon in UK' i decided to go for them.
Even though the treatment was done well, i am very disappointed with their after-care and customer services at Tottenham Court rd branch. I been having problems with vision in my right eye including headaches and after I had my follow-up checks which lasted less then 5 minutes, I felt the whole procedure (of check-ups) was very quick and just like being on a conveyor - belt!!! Every time i asked a question, the only response i got was 'give it time, you be fine soon'. I felt the optician who did the checks didn’t really care or have any concerns about my eye and just wanted to get on with it and get me out the door!!! Im pretty sure this is not normal!!! To add on at the reception the young girls are very unprofessional and rude, one even had her boyfriend sitting behind the desk and the other one was filling her nails!!! Isn’t this meant to be a top laser eye surgery not beauty salon???
After my one month check up on Friday (30/04/10), optician advised everything is fine and eyes look 'perfect' with 'perfect vision'!! Sunday morning (02/05/10) i woke up with a massive headache and no vision in my left eye. Rang Ultralase had no response, went to TCB and it was closed. Went to Moorfields Eye hospital and was given priority due to eye condition. Was told i have spots in eyes which usually develop overtime and can lead to infection if not treated hence loss in sight. Doc at Moorfields was shocked to find out this has not been spotted out by Ultralase on Friday. Was given painkillers and some drops. Vision started to come back but still even today 04/05/10 it is blurred.
Rang Ultralase (TCB) yesterday morning 03/05/10 at 11.00pm and the receptionist said 'what do you want me to do?'. I asked to see surgeon (Mr Gupta) and their said this is not possible and will get back!!!4 hours later and still no reply - rang back and finally managed to get an appointment with Surgeon on Thursday.
I’m back at work, with vision in left eye so blurry, that if i close my right eye i can not see my computer screen. Ultralase has been pathetic and i am thinking of complaining to Watchdog if Thursday does not go well!!! I can not believe how unprofessional the staff at TCB can be and its definitely not worth the money you pay. Please avoid TCB at all cost unless you want to have blurred vision or issues with your eyes!!! At the end of the day we only get 2 pairs of eyes and of their put across a message of being the 'best' perhaps its time to act accordingly as well!!!!

“After reading the comments above, we felt the need to investigate the issues that the patient had mentioned. It was disappointing to us to read such negative comments about TCR and that the patient had not had the care that they expected. We strive to provide the very best in after-care and apologise deeply to a valued customer who did not feel it was tailored with a personal approach.
