Having a healthcare background meant that I was very careful about the potential of laser eye treatment, both positively and negatively. I did a lot of research on treatment providers, as you can never be too careful with your eyes. When I visited Ultralase in Leeds I was greeted by not only a friendly and efficient receptionist but also a clean, organised clinic environment that immediately instilled confidence. All of my questions were answered thoroughly and honestly and even any irrational fears were professionally dealt with. The extent of the pre-treatment testing was a real comfort to me. I also really valued the approach the staff took towards allowing me adequate time to consider my decision over whether to go through with the treatment or not. I did not feel pressured in any way throughout the process. The treatment itself was absolutely painless and was over in no time at all. After approximately an hour my vision had improved significantly and by the following day I had 6/5 vision in one eye and 6/6 in the other. My year of after care was astounding, everyone was so thorough and genuinely helpful. I had minor problems with one eye becoming a little dry but again I was looked after superbly. 2 years on and now my vision has settled to 6/4 which is better than I could ever have hoped for. It means that I can live my life completely free of glasses and contact lenses. I can enjoy the extreme challenges and sports in my life, that I love, without restriction. I would say that I have become an informed advocate of LASIK and I can only say a great big THANK YOU to Ultralase for giving me my vision back.
