Had Lasik at the Glasgow clinic on 28th September 2004 (Dr Susanna Boytha), my consultation was the week before and I wanted it done quickly. My prescription was -5 in both eyes and I have worn glasses for 20 yrs. Like most comments the treatment is completely painfree, more of an unusual sensation with slight discomfort. I was in at 9am and in bed sleeping at noon and after 3 hrs sleep (took some painkillers) woke up feeling great and seeing reasonably well (slightly hazy). Had my 24 hr check at 8am this morning - almost exactly 24hrs after surgery and was confirmed as having slightly better than 20/20 vision. No discomfort or soreness. Still a bit strange not to have glasses on and keep reaching for them. Sight has improved as they day has gone on and aside from a slight haze around the outside is as good as, if not better than, with glasses. I have already recommended the procedure to 3 people who are quite amazed that I am back at work with absolutely no ill effects 24 hrs after the procedure. Staff were fantastic, very knowledgable and took the trouble to explain everything in detail and were happy to answer questions no matter how trivial they seemed.
