I went to the Eye Clinic in Regent Street, London for a free consultation. It was performed by an optometrtian and not a qualified surgeon. In fact I would not have mee the surgeon until the day of the operation. At first I was told I could have either PRK or LASIK (-1.75 on both eyes), but they recommended PRK. When I asked about LASEK the optometrist did not even know, what I was talking about.
After the consultation I was bombared with phone calls and various mailings (at least one per week). When I told them, I rather want to have LASEK, they called me back again and said they could offer this now as well.
All this did not make me feel at ease at the Eye Clinic, so I opted for LASEK by David O'Brart (see my comment for St Thomas's Hospital) - a world class surgeon with more than ten years experience in laser eye surgery!
