I have just had my consultation and have been recommended for Lasik treatment. I have a fairly light prescription and the cost quoted is £395 per eye for standard or £995 per eye for Wavefront. Obviously quite a difference and I am in two minds which option to take, any suggestions? Is the extra cost worthwhile? Also an extra £300 per eye for Intralase. Not sure what to do. The op will take place in Bristol.

My main concern, however, is the fact that my near vision is very good at present, I'm in my mid 40's, and I am worried that this may be affected by the surgery. Has anyone experienced any loss of near sight after surgery? I know in time I may need reading glasses as most people do but I am worried about needing these soon after surgery.
I would be grateful to hear of anyone who has any comments on the above, Please e-mail me. With many thanks.
