I had my Lasik surgery yesterday in Glasgow, and would like to thank all the staff, both in Glasgow and Aberdeen.
I found the procedure quite frightening especially the 'creation' of the flap, however it was not painfull. I was very grateful to the nurse who held my hand during the procedure and reminded me to breath!! Immediately after the treatment I could see a difference. However I would recommend that if like me you have to travel some distance for the surgery it is best to be staying in a hotel close by. Unfortunately, I was returning home by train, and had several hours to 'fill in'. I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep, but obviously could not do so. My eyes did water for several hours and they were very light sensitive. Four hours later they were fine. They didn't feel gritty or sore in any way.
The good news is I have had an excellent result (20/20). No more glasses for me, and ultimately that was what I wanted.
It is a big, frightening decision, and one you shouldn't take lightly. However, Optical Express managed to answer all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with my decision.
