Having worn soft contact lenses for 8 years, I've experienced all the inconveniences and discomforts that come with them; from drying out and popping out to getting stuck at the back of my eyes. I had always thought about getting laser surgery one day in the future but never got round to doing anything about it. Until recently that is!

Last week, I had both eyes corrected using LASIK Wavefront & Intralase at the Optical Express in Shaftesbury Avenue, London. I can honestly say it is the best thing I've ever had. I can now see better than 20/20, although I do get halos at night (have been told this will improve as my eyes heal).

The procedure itself was between 10-15 minutes long and was surprisingly painless. I was very nervous before and during the op but my surgeon reassured me making me relaxed. I could clearly see everything in the room right after the op.
The after-care has been superb, all the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. I truly recommend this treatment to anyone who wears contacts/glasses and enjoys playing sports.. I cannot wait to start swimming, cycling and playing rugby again with my NEW eyes!

Seeing the flaps in the cornea being lifted and placed back again after the procedure is an incredible experience I will never ever forget :)
