I had my lasik surgery on 12/12/07 with Osama Gildi at the Shaftesbury Avenue branch just before my 26th birthday and it's now just over a week since the operation.
Originally my eyesight was Right -5.0 and Left -5.5 diopters and used contact lenses to correct my shortsightedness. I could barely read a book more than 25cm away
A week on I've been told I now have -0.5 in both my eyes and have better than 20/20 vision which is a vast improvement than before and I can now drive without glasses!
My only gripe is with my post operative vision, I see less clearly than with lenses and glasses. The only reason I can think of is that I used to wear lenses that were 0.25 diopters less than m ...

I had Lasek surgery in Glasgow on 17th Dec, operation performed by David Teenan. I was really nervous about the operation and had even went to the doctor a few days before to get some sedatives to calm me down!!! I found this very helpful for getting a good night's sleep before the op and the few hours before. The actual operation was a breeze and i had been worrying excessively about it. There was no discomfort at all and even the eye clamps were absolutely fine. The whole op seemed to only last a few minutes and I could see quite clearly immediately.

Information given in "non pushy" way by Richard Taylor at Harrogate.Big reason for choosing them was having consultation and follow-up checks in Harrogate, only traveling to Leeds for surgery.Only had 1 eye done, ended up with lasek as unable to get "thing"in eye!Was about 90 mins of re-checks and waiting before surgery,a bit nervous by end of wait.Surgeon & staff brilliant.Only painful when lens taken out after 4 days but that one day of pain was well worth the result. Now have one eye able to read (untreated) and other sees distance. Its just brilliant just getting on with life and not deciding glasses or contacts.

On the day of the surgery, my eyes were measured again to ensure accuracy of data and the information double checked by the surgeon who, prior to surgery spent a lot of time going over the procedures.
The actual surgery was done quietly and efficiently with the surgeon advising me at all stages what was to be expected. It was completely painless with very little discomfort. I have just had my consultation and have been recommended for Lasik treatment. I have a fairly light prescription and the cost quoted is £395 per eye for standard or £995 per eye for Wavefront. Obviously quite a difference and I am in two minds which option to take, any suggestions? Is the extra cost worthwhile? Also an extra £300 per eye for Intralase. Not sure what to do. The op will take place in Bristol.
My main concern, however, is the fact that my near vision is very good at present, I'm in my mid 40's, and I am worried that this may be affected by the surgery. Has anyone experienced any loss of near sight after surgery? I know in time I may need reading glasses as most people do bu ...

Apart from the excessive waiting around before hand, the service was great. I had my surgery on monday at 3 pm. Their was no pain at all, my whole procedure was explained to me prior to anthing happening. The whole procedure took ten minutes and I felt nothing.
Everyone here has been so helpfull explaing everything, making me feel relaxed and completly at ease. It was not nerve wracking or stressfull at all.
Now I have 20/20 and can throw away my glasses, which i wore full time. It was so wonderfull.
Many thanks to all the wonderfull staff here at optical express, I will be singing their praises for a long time to come.

I had Lasik Wavefront on 13/07/07 with Mr George, who was very skilled and reassuring. The whole experience was fantastic.Clean, professional, efficientand friendly.
The surgery itself was a strange experience but not at all uncomfortable.
For the first few hours afterwards,my eyes felt gritty and watered continually, but were never painful. Even as igot off the operating chair my vision was dramatically improved, and continued to get better.
After 6 hours i could read number plates 40 metres and my eyes were only a little scratchy, like wearing my contacts an a 'bad day'.When I woke up the following morning my vision was perfect- better than 20:20 and no dryness or discomfort.

I am extremely pleased at the whole experience. I went in for my first consultation 2 years ago but at the time I was not suitable for treatment due to the size of my pupils (they are larger than average which would’ve caused night-glare if I’d had the operation at the time). But 2 years later I went back and due an advance in technology and a new procedure called “Wavefront” I was able to have this operation in both my eyes.
Throughout the consultations I was thoroughly advised on what to do, what to expect etc. On the day of my surgery I was taken in by my surgeon – Mr Wayne Crewe-Brown – and he discussed a few points with me and asked if I had any questions. He also told me about the ...

Lasik Intralase Wavefront 10 August 2007
It would be wrong to claim the procedure was fun - but I didn't find it to be much worse than a trip to the dentist.
16 hours since I was zapped and I've just been told my vision is better than 20/20.
Apparently there is a little inflammation in one ey, but I'm not really in any discomfort.
I'm overjoyed, if my eyes were capable of producing tears, I'd probably shed one.
Fantastic - Thank you.
PS: I'm not a huge fan of the sleeping goggles but I can live with that.

Just been for consultation in Birmingham. Staff were very nice and only thing I was slightly suspicious of is that when I was looking at the patient comment books, the current one was only started in July. When I asked about the previous one I was told it had 'gone missing'!!
In reply to Angela Beales I gather the 'suction' is the method of removing the flap of cornea prior to performing the actual procedure.
Can anyone who has had it done comment on exactly how uncomfortable the procedure is???

Hi
I am just looking for advice here really. I am booked in for wavefront with intralase in 3 weeks time, but I have been told I am on the borderline as to whether I can get it done or not so my surgeon has left the decision with me. She said my eyes measure 48.25 on some scale or other, where the recommended limit of treatment is 48. She said although this is a very small bit over, she still must warn me that it may not go as well as I'd hoped. She said getting treatment cannot make my eyes worse, but I could get dry eyes, longer healing periods and may need a second treatment. I am just wondering if anyone has been told this too? If so, what did you do? Did you have the surgery? ...

I had lasik wavefront surgery at Bristol on 23rd July. I am 60 years old, had -6 and -8 prescription, have worn glasses for 50 years and have very dry eyes. I also had astigmatism in one eye. I am now still struggling with distance vision. I have reasonable nearsight, which is a GREAT improvement to what I could see without glasses before, but all past a few feet away is blurred, slightly out of focus and a bit like double vision. I have been assured that the surgery was a success, I am no longer short-sighted and it is the above factors, mainly the dryness, which is causing the slowness of recovery of the distance vision. However, it does not stop me feeling quite panicky about whether, wh ...

Before I got my surgery done I was nervous but the staff at Bluewater made me feel confident in getting it done, I got the Wavefront in both eyes and the surgery was 15 mins and with eye drops in didn't have any pain, because I was so short sighted -6.50 in right eye and -5.50 in the left I found it hard to look straight ahead once they lifted the flap of my eye up to laser it, once it was done it was a wee bit sore once the drops wore off but I was in a dark queit room and then someone came and gave me some more drops, that was lush as they started to get a bit sore, I could see straight away but after I left the clinic I wanted to just keep my eyes shut, I got home and my friend had to ...

22/3/07 - Had the surgery yesterday (5.15pm) and feel brilliant this morning at 9.30am. Surgery uncomfortable but extremely quick. The staff in Glasgow (just like at George St, Edinburgh) absolutely fantastic, very attentive & reassuring. Half an hour after the op the teary eyes began & the grittiness appeared. For the next 4/5 hours grittiness was extremely irritating and vision was better already at 10pm. Have just had a one-day checkup today and I have better than 20/20 vision already. I am absolutely delighted & over the moon.

Hi,
I have booked to have Lasex Standard at Bluewater on 9th August.
Has anyone had this procedure done? If so does anyone know how the top layer is taken off? I know an alcohol solution is placed on the eye, but then what before the laser bit?
I am so scared, I don't want something sharp coming towards my eye.
If anyone can help, that would be great.

I opted for wavefront intralase, before surgery I only had a small prescription of about -1 in each eye.
At the consultation I was so wound up and scared, once they put the drops into my eyes that make your pupils go big I fainted.
The days leading up to the surgery I almost cancelled about a dozen times, but in the end I was brave and went for it. I was shaking when I was lying on the table, but afterwards I felt I had been worrying and stressing for no reason as the surgery was not that bad. I felt a little discomfort when they put the clamps on but not much and the flaps were done in no time and the ...

I have a busy life and i felt that i would have to take a week or so off to have this treatment done.. No way, i was back to work in 1 day, which suited me fine.
I visited the Clinic in Renfield Street Glasgow at 10.00am It was very popular and the atmosphere was great and relaxing as everyone was asking everyone questions, drinking coffee, and generally chilling out reading etc.
It was actually amazing to see patients come out of Laser Eye surgery when you are sitting there, it is like nothing really has happened other than they have been crying, but of course can now see where they ar ...

I had Lasek Wavefront Surgery at Birmingham on 18th April 2007. The Cost of my surgery was the advertised minimum price of £795 per eye as i had a prescription of -1.5 in each eye. The initial consultation was good, the guy was very friendly and answered all my questions. I had done a lot of research so had already decided that if the price was within my limits i would sign up on the day. They do make you sign the forms when you cant see clearly from the pupil drops which i think is a little unethical! I was clear in my own mind as to what was going to happen and the surgery was totally painless and took less than one minute per eye. Although the surgeon Alex George was not very nice and kep ...

In reply to the person who was considering having a retreatment, I have done this and it went very well. I initially had lasik wavefront to treat a -4 and -4.5 prescription. Surgeon Wayne Crewe-Brown. Unfortunately I had to have both eyes relifted (the flaps) and smoothed out after a week because they had wrinkles in - it does happen and is just bad luck. This had occurred after my 24 hour check up! It did freak me out completely but actually was not half as bad as the original surgery because they didn't have to clamp my eyes open quite as far, and because they didn't have to use any suction as they weren't making a new cut. (For anybody thinking about saving a bit of money ...

I had lasik wavefront and at my aftercare appointment today, I have better than 20/20 vision and it is still to settle!! The actual surgery part is not painful at all, however, it is quite uncomfortable when they apply the eye clip and the creation of the flap. Results are fantastic, better than 20/20 vision and no worries about wearing glasses any more. The team at Optical Express was very professional and it all went very well. During the operation, I was surprised that the laser makes quite a lot noise and gives a slight smell of burnt... weird but really not painful. Agree with others that the 'pampering' is not greatly apparent but that's not a necessity - too wound up to really notice! As with others I did feel discomfort bordering on pain for a short while as the intralase was being used but in the great scheme of things was not a problem. The experience itself was quite scary and a bit uncomfortable but not painful at all.
It was all a bit impersonal though. Was waiting half and hour before I saw the surgeon for about 2mins before surgery when he checked my eyes. Then I had to wait about 20 more minutes til I was ushered in for treatment.
There just wasn't much interaction or reassurance going on, and it did feel like I was on a production line of some sorts, but I cannot argue with the results at all.

First overall, I'll caveat this by saying that I still have a residual prescription in both eyes of about -1.5. While this has clearly biased my view on the process there are a couple of things I want to highlight for anyone considering Laser surgery.
1) Decide what is more important to you- price, or personalised medical care. The frustrating thing about large chains is the minimal contact you have with the surgeon. On considering laser treatment I discussed monovision with the staff at Optical Express Meadowhall. Monovision is after all a compromise but they tried slightly differing contacts as a trial over a couple of weeks to get the best compromise possible on the 'reader' eye. 2) The equipment, setup and to some degree his methods seemed more amateur compared to Optical Express.

Currently I experience halos at night, slight astigmatism in my left eye and at times dry eyes (a side effect that's admittedly exacerbated by my working conditions, though I don't really consider it bothersome). My eye sight though is very functional and near perfect minor complications as ...

Sugery @ Bristol
Surgeon: Mrs Joanna McGraw
Date of Surgery: 23/03/07
Pre Op Prescription: -3.50 both eyes.
Had surgery on Friday 23rd at about 3:15pm, total time in surgery was about 15 minutes, it was a little nerve wracking and I felt a bit claustrophobic with all the equipment around me but the surgery itself was totally painless, some pressure was felt but this was not painful at all, after surgery my eyesight was still a bit blurry but after time went on it improved minute by minute. I had no discomfort in either eye or the streaming which can happen, my eyes weren't even red. The post op check up the day after concluded that I can now read the bottom l ...

I had my wavefront lasik treatment just over a week ago at optical express newcastle. The staff were all really friendly and professional which helped me feel at ease as i was a bit nervous. I had various checks before I went in for my actual treatment. I was quite surprised that I didn't have to be kept waiting. The surgeon said I would hear a buzzing noise when they cut my cornea but i didn't realize how loud it would be and I flinched. Luckily it didn't affect my eye! There was no pain at all during treatment but the smell of burning was a bit off putting!
1/2hr after treatment I was in a restaurant accross the road from optical express with my sunglasses on and my eyes ...

PLEASE BE WARNED IF YOU SUFFER FROM DRY EYES.
Optical Express - BLUEWATER.
Had a complete disaster. My friend previously had surgery here. She was happy with surgery but didn't think customer service was up to scratch but I decided to give it a go. From first impressions, customer service was pretty awful. Staff were like robots, just reading a script. No personal service whatsoever. Next I met the optometrist. Now I'm aware I suffer from quite severe dry eyes and have done so for years. I wanted to be sure the surgery would be suitable for me. I made sure I asked about the dry eyes part but just literally got, "it'll be fine". I wasn't happy with the brief response s ...

I had Lasik with wavefront and Intralase just over two weeks ago. Actual operation wasn't pleasant but was over so quickly you don't really have time to fret. Very efficiently executed. The first week post op was pretty nasty for me. couldn't really do much. Second week better and I am now into my third week. Each day my eyes feel more comfortable although I can relate to the comments about headaches - like a pulling sensation when you get a brand new prescription in your glasses. As far as vision is concerned I was around -8.00 and was told that I might be left with a small prescription and although this doesn't settle down for a month after the op I reckon I will be left wi ...

The aftercare service instills confidence in the treatment that you have had done and the predicted 1-2 days recovery time was spot on! Although the treatment itself can be quite unnerving, the results are amazing!

I had Wavefront Lasik. My treatment from intial consultation 7 months ago till signed off yesterday was fantastic. Everything was explained in detail and I was given ample opportunity to ask questions before progressing to the next stage of treatment. My only regret? The money I've wasted in the 10 years on disposable lenses and glasses.
I did feel a little disconfort during surgery but it wasn't painful. The goggles at night weren't the most attractive - think a giant fly - but would recommend everyone to do this.

I went to me 1 week check up and i was still 2 above 20/20 in one eye and 1 above in the other. I explained i was worried about the burry vision and i was told my eyes were still healing. That was a week ago and i can see they are getting better. Wow!!!! I still can't quite get over the fact that I can see - after 17 years of wearing glasses full time, now I don't need them! My eyesight is still a bit blurry in the distance, but this will sort itself out in time, and driving, using the computer, watching TV, reading and so on are no problem at all.
I was very nervous when I first went to the clinic on the day of my procedure, but the team were so friendly and Mr Crewe-Brown, the surgeon, was so reassuring, that I soon got over my apprehension. Absolutely fantastic. It's a shame to read about poor customer service on this site, because the staff at both Peterborough and Shaftesbury Ave were nothing short of brilliant. I decided not to opt for wavefront and there was absolutely no hard sell to try and change my mind. Surgeon and nurses were extremely professional and put me very much at ease. The procedure was very fast - the flap cutting was rather unpleasant, but aside from that it was painless. Could see better immediately afterwards! Mentioned that my eyes are still blurred and night vision a problem (Still cant drive at night) They explained that this was normal and would settle down with time. She tested my vision which without the blurring is better than 20/20 now in both eyes. She has given me some differnt drops to put into my eyes to help with the blurring. Todays visit was really re-assuring and positive. i feel much happier now. Thanks

I had Lasik/Wavefront surgery carried out at London Shaftsbury Avenue on the 03-03-06.
I only suffered with mild short sightness -1.75 in both eyes.
The procedure last approx 10 minutes from walking in the operating room to leaving the room. The actual laser part in self lasts only about 30 seconds per eye. The preparation where your eye lid is taped back was very uncomfortable (but not painful)
After surgery it was a mixture of feeling like having grit in your eyes (and remember you cannot rub your eyes) and a feeling that you have been peeling onions were your eyes weep.

From £395 per eye? Try £3090 which was quoted to me after a visit to the Torquay branch. I most certainly have not gone with Optical Express and will be looking for a clinic with better reports. To say £395 per eye and then charge £1545 is ridiculous and I don't care if it's "from" - that's the sort of thing you'd expect from a cheap flights website, not a clinic responsible for the fate of your vision!

Said I was under no pressure to have it but they would recommend it less that 0.5% chance of flap not being created properly etc. Felt that this was wrong, you are already nervous before surgery as it is. The surgery itself was very uncomfortable. After placing the suction cap on my right eye and then the machine pushing down the suction cap popped off. The sugeon was full of apologies and again placed the suction cap back on my e ...

Now over 4 moths since I had Wavefront Lasik, and checkups have all been very positive. Totally forget about the fact that I used to wear glasses now as it seems like a distant memory! There is a very slight residual prescription left, but it is very slight and I have better than 20:20 vision, so it's all good!!!!!

I had intralase wavefront 4 weeks ago. I was -7.0 and -6.75 with slight astigmatism. I am delighted with results. 20/16 in one eye, less in the other but together better than 20/20. The intralase was uncomfortable but not painful as such; wavefront laser painless. I had no post operative pain at all, just some watering for a few hours afterwards. I wore the goggles for a week at night in bed, did all the drops religiously, didn't rub and basically followed alll the instructions. So far so good - fingers crossed that it continues. I go back in 2 months and will post again.

Though't I'd give it time before I posted and it may help others who are a bit dispondant and please email me direct if you are in the same position I was.
Attended Newcastle last July (note that I was longsighted so not the normal shortsight problem)
Was told that my prescription was quite small but they could do it - had the lasik wavefront and the day after - fantastic.
THEN my eyes started to get worse at the mid and near end - distance was excellent.
After numerous appointments I went last month and I was offered a retreatment.
The surgeon was only wanting to treat my right eye which I accepted.
On the day of the Op I asked the surgeon to treat my right eye by overcorrecti ...

Had my surgery 6 weeks ago. Can I see better post-surgery without glasses then I could pre-surgery without glasses? Without doubt, but that wouldn't have been difficult as I couldn't see much past an arms length away without my glasses. Can I see as clearly post-surgery without my glasses as I could pre-surgery with my glass? Unfortunately NO (and surely this is the whole point or having the surgery?). My sight is no where near as clear as it was with my glasses. The staff keep telling me at each check up that fluctuations can occur up to 12 weeks post-surgery but my sight is not getting any better. At my 6 week check yesterday I asked at what point somebody actually admits to m ...

To put things in context, I am a complete coward when it comes to physical pain - I faint with blood tests and injections. So when I say that Wavefront Lasik with Intralase does not hurt, I mean it. I wouldn't have been brave enough to have the traditional flap cutting method (blade)so having the flaps cut with the Intralase laser was my only option - and well worth the £300 per eye. I also wanted the "Stella Artois" reassuringly expensive option, so although the Optical Express advert says from £395 per eye I opted for the latest technology and had Wavefront. The team at Optical Express were fantastic - Mr Giledi was my surgeon and he explained every step of the surgery and was very kin ...

I had Wavefront-Lasik eye surgery and have been very pleased with the results. Great distance vision and night vision too. No starburst around headlamps anymore. Mr Wayne Crew-Brown was my surgeon and the team at Bluewater have all been great. Friendly, helpful and everything explained in simple English. The aftercare treatment has also been very good. I have, and will continue to reccomend the treatment to friends and family and anyone else who I get into conversation with about the subject. I cant thank the team at Optical Express, Bluewater enough. They have given me freedom from face furniture and contact lenses alike.

I had my Lasik Wavefront surgery just over 6 weeks ago, and my results thus far have been superb. The consultation with Declan convinced me that the surgery was the right thing to do, and he told me all about his own experiences of his surgery. I wanted the best treatment i could get, and was informed that Customvue was the best.
As most people were, i was very nervous waiting to get it done, but after meeting the surgeon, Mr Klopper, he put me at ease. The surgery was mild in terms of discomfort, a few hours afterwards it felt like i never wore glasses before!
Any questions i had pre surgery were competently answered by everyone i spoke to in the Clinic. I would thoroughly recommend O ...

Had lasik wavefront in August 2006, operation suspended almost immediately, as the `flap` made in right eye was apparently not large enough. Had to wait six months for the eye to heal. On each subsequent check up visit, three in total staff appeared not to have read my notes and were not fully aware of why I was there. Until I outlined my surgery history on each occassion. Finally had surgery carried out on both eyes over two weeks ago and it was decided that the Lasek wavefront was the preferred treatment. My near vision has improved marginally, however my distance vision has if anything, deteriorated significantly and anything beyond 5-10 feet is a total blurr. I was informed at my one we ...

I went to the Oxford Optical Express for my free check and within eight days had my surgery. The following day my eyesight is better than 20/20! Best thing I have ever done!
My optician was Christopher Gascoine and the surgeon Dr. Rodney Blumfeld and they, as well as the entire staff, were excellent! No hesitations at all in completely recommending them.

I've worn glasses since childhood, with a period with contact lenses, and I'm 63 now so have had a lot of short-sighted years.
I went to Optical Express in York on 8th November 2006 and was very impressed with the tests and advice I was given and settled for the full treatment with wavefront. Not cheap at very nearly £2500 but you gets what you pays for.
Went to Leeds for the surgery under Mr Khan on 29th November 2006. Absolutely no pain or discomfort, I was more fascinated by the proceedure and how quick it was.
Got outside and couldn't open my eyes due to the brightness, luckily my better half was there to lead me back to the bus home. make sure it's somebody you tru ...

Update from my last post..... I had my sugery 3 days ago (wavefront Lasik), I now have 20/20 vision and no problems!!
It all went really well, I found out at the consultation that I was a very good candidate and booked my appointment. The clinic was very nice as were the staff and I was in and out within 2 hours. The treatment only lasted about 5 minutes and it wasn't painful, just felt like my eyeballs were being scooped out then pushed into the back of my head!! but as nasty as that sounds it was a 10 second feeling and when he was finished I wondered why I had worked myself ...

After wearing contact lenses all my life and not being able to see at all without them decided on laser surgery.
As with some other comments made it does feel like a conveyor belt even when you go for the surgery and especially when you have the free consultation - you mix with the people having their teeth whitened - not very comforting!
The consultation involves quote a few tests including various drops being put in (you are pre-warned by them). Perhaps it was my prescrption but I was virtually blind afterward - a driver is a must (it wears off after a few hours).
On the day of the procedure was ver ...

Having gone through all the usual worries associated with laser eye surgery, should I,will it work out OK,will I have worse vision than before,I've only got one pair of eyes. I finally went ahead and had all the checks/tests and was told I was suitable for Lasik Wavefront. I had my consultation at Stockton and my surgery at Newcastle on the 16th of January, the Surgeon was Mr Lorrimer Esselaar and the results are better than I ever imagined. Less than 24 Hrs on from surgery I can read the bottom line of the Opticians chart with both eyes. My near vision for reading etc has worsened but at 46 years old I was told and was prepared for that, so if things don't settle down it's a pair ...

I have been looking at all the info on this site in the search for the right company (very useful) Having previously booked a consultation at Optimax at Finchley Rd on reccommendation from a friend, I did some research into the clinic....
If you go on the Healthcare Commission website you can read all the latest reports about every clinic. Optimax at Finchley Road last report had some worrying standards not met, and standards almost met on some very important issues, and I wasn't impressed with having to give a £30 deposit, so ...

I am following up my previous comments. I had surgery in July. Now need retreatment due to astigmatism (caused by surgery?). If anybody has had a retreatment please please could you post a comment on how it was and what the recovery time was like compared to the first time. I had Lasik and apparently they can still relift the flap seven months later? thanks.
nb. for people thinking of having treatment for a first time, go for it. I have not regretted it in any way. I can manage without glasses or lenses (before surgery I wouldn't even have crossed a room without), therefore if there was a flood or disaster and I had no lenses I would not be able to find my children and die instan ...

Had post op on 13th and found that I had better than 20/20 vision no discomfort, and you would not be able to tell that any treatment had been carried out. Treatment on 16 November 2006 in Nottingham.
Unfortunately the initial treatment was cancelled due to a fault with the laser but two weeks later "Hey Presto!" - Fantastic. Next morning walking the dog (which I normally do without my contacts and therfore am fairly blind)I can see ripples on the river and branches on trees.
Aftercare and pre-op brilliant, friendly and relaxing. Couldn't even fault the coffee!!
Will recommend to everyone.

I originally attended Optimax Glasgow and was told my corneas were too thin and I was only eligible for Lasek (the sore one!)I was a bit ambivilent and was sent away to think about it. Long story..... eventulally didnt go back to Optimax but had my consultation in Glasgow Optical Express. There I was told I was suitable for Lasik and that my corneas were "not even close to being too thin" This was encouraging as I had not expected it.
I had my surgery in Glasgow 30/11/06 I had mild astigmatism in both eyes and a little shortsightedness. I opted for Wavefront Lasik having the flap cut using Ultralase.
On the day I was of course nervous,I arrived in plenty of time and was led to the laser ...

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today, and previously was -8 short sighted in both eyes (very bad). Although my right eye is perfect and I have been told by Optical Express I have better than 20/20 vision, my left eye is still slightly blurry and both are a little dry still. I have been given eye gel as well as the blink drops to help the dryness. Has anyone else had the same problem, and if so, what was the outcome and how long did it take?

Had my eyes done in Jan 06...this year.
For the first 2 weeks my left eye healed pretty quickly but my right eye took around a month. After this my eyes were fine...I became really light sensitive but I am soooo happy with my two little eyes.
The actual procedure and everything was kind of kool. If ur in IT then just image ur monitor after a 20 hour stint and u will have a very good idea of how it feels.
Everything went well and so I think if you can then go to the clinic and get ur eyes done. I am more than happy.

I had standard Lasek on 22nd December 2006 at the Milton Keynes clinic. I was R -4.25 and L -4.5.
The actual surgery itself was very quick and there was no pain, just a little uncomfortable with lots going on around me. The surgeon was excellent and kept me informed all the way through with what he was doing. Anyone that is worried about the surgery itself - don't be it really is less traumatic than the dentists! I was lucky and didn't have anyone ahead of me so I was in and out of the clinic within 40 minutes which included the final tests, the surgery, and post-op advice.
As soon as I got up from the operating chair, I could see almost perfectly with a little blurring, ...

6.5 Month Update:
After having Lasik Wavefront performed at Birmingham OE (June '06), I will hopefully be having enhancement surgery on my right eye due to it regressing to -1.0 and the left eye -0.50 which will not be treated. Pre op prescription was only -3.00 in both eyes and unfortunately I am one of the 2% it hasnt worked for! OE have been fantastic and have monitored eyesight thoroughly (at my local Manchester branch) and thankfully, i will not be returning to Birmingham for the enhancement surgery. A big thank you to Giles Turner for his continuted help. As you can imagine, i have been extremely worried since June '06, and have had to 'give in' and wear glasses for d ...
