Crystalenses are amazing! I can now read even the tiniest print and my sight is as good as it was in my twenties/thirties. Life is much less stressful – I can use the computer without glasses, which is great and much less tiring. Colours have become more vibrant especially the birds in the garden and everyday objects, which I had thought were blue or green, have turned out to be beautifully patterned. And to be able to use sunglasses without hunting around for specs or “add-on” lenses is fantastic. Crystalens have my highest recommendation. I can honestly say that I didn't really have any particular expectations for the surgery as I really wasn't sure how good things could be. At -12 and -15 my myopia was pretty bad and before my initial consultation I knew that laser treatment just wasn't possible. I'd previously heard of implanted contact lenses but my eyes weren't suitable for this treatment which left replacement lenses. I was pretty anxious before the surgery and the week between each eye being done was tricky but the results are truly miraculous for 99% of the time I don't need any correction and have reading glasses for those occasions where the small print is just too small. I had the surgery in July with Optegra, Guildford. The service from start to finish was fantastic. You were encouraged to ask as many questions as you wanted so that you felt confident enough to go ahead with the procedure. Rob Morris and all his staff are excellent and really make you feel relaxed about the whole thing. Apart from some slight discomfort when the eye was clamped open the procedure was painless and went really well, just make sure you follow the aftercare instructions precisely (drops, wearing protective goggles at night, etc). I have gone from a -7 to -0.75 in my right eye. It's like seeing a whole new world and I still get really excited about being able to read things at ...  More...

My experience with Optegra was wonderful! The operation was explained in a very straightforward way and I was informed step by step what was happening. There was a slight pressure when each eye was being kept open but the actual procedure did not hurt and it was over in a matter of minutes. I had a fantastic experience with Optegra Eye Care. The place is great, staff are very professional but also very friendly, and the most important: Dr Levy has done such an AMAZING job with putting my flap back that it healed almost INSTANTLY!
