I had my lasek surgery in April 2006 and I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done. I had a relatively high prescription of -7.00 both eyes, had been wearing glasses from 6 years of age and contact lens from 18 years of age - nearly 50 years in total. I did my internet research, and chose the Manchester Eye Hospital as I believed they would have the very best care available. I didn't even bother looking at the high street clinics. I was treated courteously and efficiently before, during and after the treatment by all the staff from the medical staff through to the receptionist. I always felt I was in very safe hands, although I found the op a bit scary and the pain in one eye was almost unbearable for a couple of days. I was given lots of information both about the process and the aftercare and never felt that my case was just another dollar. I had opted for mono-vision (one eye left slightly under corrected) to reduce the need for contact lens or glasses, and am now -0.25 and -1.00. It took me a few months to really get used to it, but all the way through I was assured that the op could be repeated in the under-corrected eye if that's what I wanted. I am now more than happy with the result and I cannot recommend the Eye Hospital highly enough. It was worth every penny.
