I had LASEK surgery in August 2007 having spent the last couple of years (meticulously) researching the different procedures, clinics and surgeons. I had decided the Eye Hospital to beprobably the best option as the patient sees the same operating surgeon and clinical staff from start to finish. I had also decided on LASEK which seems to be slightly more hassle in the short-term but lower-risk long-term and equal in terms of potential outcomes. It is imperative to do your own research though as this will vary from individual to individual.

I had my lasek surgery in April 2006 and I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done. I had a relatively high prescription of -7.00 both eyes, had been wearing glasses from 6 years of age and contact lens from 18 years of age - nearly 50 years in total. I did my internet research, and chose the Manchester Eye Hospital as I believed they would have the very best care available. I didn't even bother looking at the high street clinics. I was treated courteously and efficiently before, during and after the treatment by all the staff from the medical staff through to the receptionist. 6 months on, and having been for my fifth post-op checkup (all of which were with the surgeon who performed my op), I am -0.25 in my left eye and 0.00 in my right. I am very pleased with the process in all areas, and would certainly recommend Lasek+wavefront as performed here. This isn't the cheapest clinic around, but you definitely get what you paid for.
