The surgery is VERY simple (well, from the patient’s point of view - probably somewhat more complicated for the surgeon!). You really feel nothing on the eyes, but the visuals you get are very weird and can be a bit worrying. Thankfully, they explain exactly what they are doing at every stage of the surgery, so you never had the worry of "is it meant to do that". The first stage is making the flap in the surface of your eyes. They paralyse your eyes using eye drops so you feel nothing, and then lock your eyelids open with one of the eyelid stretching things. Where were these people 20 years ago. This has at the age of 54 changed my life. The care attention to detail is second to none. Best decision I have made after wearing glasses for 30 years (-3.75 and -4.25) short-sightedness plus last few years also needing reading glasses. I have had 2 further adjustments to sharpen my reading eye. I would recommend Professor Reinstein and the London Vision Clinic to anyone who considers laser eye surgery, or is experiencing complications as a result of previous eye surgery. My brother had RK (micro surgery) performed on one of his eyes in 2004 and suffered severe halos, starbursts and blurring as a result. The halos and starbursts made it impossible for him to drive at night time. I had a very high prescription, which meant that many places would not conduct LASIK on my eyes. I went through numerous tests at the LVC to assess my suitability and thankfully I could undergo this procedure. A few months on, I have perfect vision in one eye and the other eye, might need a touch up. Nevertheless, it was the best decision of my life. The side effects vary upon an individual and you have to weight up the risks yourself. But, I would have no hesitation in recommending LVC. Go for a consultation, you will be amazed!  More...
