Update on my previous post. It is nearly 7 weeks since the surgery in Portugal and I still can not see correctly out of my right eye as it is continually blurred and I have double vision. Everything beyond 1m is blurred. I have had two eye tests since being back in UK. My eye originally was +1.5 before surgery and last Monday I was apparently -1. I am told by the Dr in Portugal that it could take up to 3 months to correct itself. Does anyone tell you this prior to Surgery? It now appears that I have pterygium that is a wedge shaped growth from the nasal side of the eye and which becomes attached to the cornea so I am going to have to spend more money on seeing a Surgeon in Bath, UK to find out where I go from here.
All eye test records prior to the eye surgery make no mention of this pterygium so one can only conclude that it is a result of the laser surgery. I also now have ordered glasses so I can see my computer screen based on the fact that my right eye is short sighted and that was not what I was to expect. I will also need glasses for driving if the eye does not improve so I shall be back to square one. I can not recommend Laser surgery at present and will post more information and let others know my progress. If anyone else has had a similar experience then please contact me as I am even more concerned for my sight than ever before plus what of the financial implications in all of this. It’s very depressing to say the least.
