Hi, I have quite a strong prescription (+10 in left eye and +9.75 in right eye) and was wondering has anyone of this level of prescription had either of the above procedures carried out? I have been for a consultation at Site for Eyes @ Sunderland Eye Infirmary and the surgeon suggested that the best procedure for him would be a refractive lens exchange (clear lens extraction) however I have concerns over this as the procedure is non reversible and seems pretty drastic. Personally I would prefer a lens implant, however the surgeon suggested that it would be difficult to do a lens implant in a patient of my prescription as there would potentially not be enough space in my eye to accommodate the implant as the eye grows in middle age, however I am only 26 at the moment. I would really appreciate any feedback from anyone with a similar prescription who has had a procedure done. I am due to go for a consultation at the Rosen Eye Clinic in Manchester soon to discuss lens implants, does anyone have any views or experiences?
