I am still trying to make up my mind whether to have surgery. See my previous mail re 45 years old and will lose my reading sight if have surgery. I am having a mono vision trial (6 days in) but really not sure about this. Distance is OK but not so sharp as with contacts. Blurry vision on the side which does not have a lens in and very difficult to read for prolonged periods. I am concious of my eyes all the time and it feels a strain. I would really like to hear from people in their 40's and 50's who have had monovision or bilateral surgery and how this has affected their near sight after a settling in period.

Also does anyone know anything about Mr Giledi from the Eye Clinic?
